Since all the discussion on Eddie Campbell is really pointless, who would you have as the Komets' next captain for the playoffs and why?
Among the candidates: Guinn, Galbraith, Drouin, Luciuk, Dupuis, Miller, Goodwin. Are you getting the idea that the Komets have lots of leadership here yet?

Tony E, All I can tell you about Schererville is that it is SW of Gary. If you want to save some drive time, take I-94 West, continue going west until it becomes I-94/I-80 (The Borman Expy.) Take SR 152 South (this is also Indianapolis Blvd.) If you go south of US 30 then it becomes Wicker Blvd. (US41) You will be far enough from Gary to be able to breathe normal air. The last time I had to visit that area I didn't have any problems...but avoid Gary area, especially downtown and at night. I used to do retail audits in the area so I know what areas to avoid. FYI: You will be real close to Illinois border...hopefully this info will make your trip easier.
Thanks much for the info Bob. I am staying at the Motel 6 in Merrillville off of 30 and 65 which shouldn't be too bad. I remember Gary all too well. When I lived down there I had to take one basketball game a year at Roosevelt because nobody wanted to go there. Police escort in and out. Yawn off to bed. We leave at 6 a.m.

To get back to answering Blake's last question. My gut tells me Guy first and because he's a vet and did wear the "C". And i agree with JM. Luciuk seems pretty levelheaded and he's a vet too.

Does anybody remember when the Komets won the Turner Cup in 1992-93? Colin Chin was hurt against Atlanta and Kevin MacDonald was named acting captain in his place, but Chinner wore the C when the next season started.
I don't think the Komets should name an acting captain, but instead pick a third "A" and give it to Dupuis - he's a defenseman, level-headed, and has plenty of experience. Goodwin would be OK if you wanted a younger player to be represented.
