There's 10:24 left in the second and the Komets have 19 shots and four goals and Flint has two shots. Things are back to normal. Some pretty goals by the Komets.
It also helps that Rockford and Quad City lost, Adirondack is losing and Motor City is tied.

Well it was the most boring 6-1 win, but at least we have won TWO Sundays in a row now!!!
Yup that was a boring game but a W like you said Hoss. I am going to comment on the Stewart and Domber situation. Stewart Challenged him all night and Domber turned it down every time, now I can understand that Domber may not be a fighter, but if that is the case then Chief needed to send Jorde out and put a stop to it. It would have taken one cheap shot by Stewart and Domber could have been hurt. It was close a couple of times. Second, Blake please do not insult the intelligence of hockey fans talking how Jorde ask guys to go. Tonight not one time did he act like or even look like he was asking anyone to go. He was on the ice many times with Stewart and never came close to him and at the end of the game when Stewart was over roughing up Domber Jorde just passively skated over. The only player on the K's that plays the game with a chip on his shoulder in Lindsay the rest of them nothing.
Hank in there David, I've got something for you in about an hour.
if sun nights team is an example of what we will see in the playoffs then im afraid it will be one and out. iwas embarrased tonight for our guys. they won the game but lost a lot of respect. if this is the hockey of the future then im afraid the uhl is on the endangered species list.
It's supposed to be hang in there David.
Also, I was really, really nice but not jumping all over that opening you gave me with both feet. You've got to give me brownie points for that.
I will be back Blake because I do want to see what you have for us tonight. Don't you feel that Stewart was really pushing the envelope with Domber?
Yes I give u a lot of brownie points because I thought you would come out swinging at me...I must state I am not down on Jorde he fights when he needs to but we do not have anyone who "causes" trouble so to speak and in a 6-1 game with it in control Stewart should have been public enemy number one.
Boy, to many people are worried about fighting...WE WON THE GAME, WHO CARES ABOUT Dave Stewert...Domber for the 2nd straight game suckered him into a lengthy penalty...Stewert is an idiot..
I got a question though...
Why was Flint awarded a penalty shot?
Jorde threw his stick at the man going in for the shot.
If Jorde would have been third in that late in the game he would have been suspended a game wouldn't he? DZ and the rest of them have be showing some restraint of late, which i don't mind since the playoffs are around the corner and especially with Flint, if the way Flint plays represents their organization from top to bottom it must be god awful. Missouri and Port Huron play with more heart than Flint!
Thanks blake for answering my question...
I didn't see it...
Sounds like I missed some fun while at an AMAZING OHL game. I saw the Spitfires come from a 4-1 1st period deficit in which they played like a junior high team and turn it into a 7-4 win to force a game 7. They are a 7th place team playing a second place. I have no voice left lol. Glad the K's one. I don't care who fights who as long as the points keep coming
I couldn't hear you Tony E. You are like a pony.....you are a "little hoarse." Budabump!!!
LOL!!!
Dumb question here.....What level of Hockey is OHL? I don't know much if anything about it?
No problem. OHL is the Ontario Hockey League. It is Junior hockey. Many of the players have been drafted by NHL teams but not all. Remember Cory Campbell? He was a former Spitfire. So were current NHL players Steve Ott, Tim Gleason, Ed Jovanovski, Matt Cooke and a few others. The OHL is part of the CHL which is made up of the Ontario, Western and Quebec junior leagues. Each year after the league seasons are over, there is a championship tournament called the Memorial Cup. It is played at a different "neutral site" though the host city team always gets to play along with the champion of the other 3 leagues. It is great hockey because these kids (ages 16-20 for the most part) are all busting their butts trying to get an NHL contract. Tonight after the spitfires got the lead, they got into a situation where they were down on a 5 on 3 penalty for 1:53. During that time, no less than FIVE players dove in front of point shots blocking them to keep the puck from getting to the goalie. That is the kind of hustle you see out there.
If anyone cares to check it out, here is the website. Most of the current Komets have played Juniors in the CHL and many in the OHL. Long bus rides, staying with host families and home schooling. I made it to the level below the OHL but was too small to get any further. I have alot of respect for these kids.

Hockey or the OHL?
Couldn't resist.
LOL.
I wanted to add for folks that in Canada, most of the good players play junior instead of for a college.
I have selected a particular digit on my right hand for you Blake. You are the hockey Guru hands down. Just don't let it go to your head. :) You non-fan.
Thanks Tony E. Another question....How would the best team in the OHL fare against the Fort Wayne Komets? Don't sugar-coat it.
Well.... The team that had Sidney Crosby on it last year (he played for a team in the Quebec League) might have at least been competitive with the Komets. I think there are guys in the OHL (mainly the 19-20 year olds) who could right now play on a UHL roster. I would say maybe the top 15-20 guys in the league. Overall, I think that UHL teams would handle OHL teams. It would be like a Division one college football team playing a top high school team. For the most part, men against boys.
But I can tell you that while there isnt alot of fighting (face masks are mandatory) There is a ton of hitting and while they would not be able to beat the Komets, they don't stop hustling until the game is over.
I did some checking. Other former/current Komets who played for the Spits or in the NHL include Jim Burton, Mike Martin, David Frawley (briefly) craig Muni, Todd Gill, Claude Loiselle (all had many years in the NHL) also Jason Spezza Jamie Storr Kyle Wellwood, Todd Warriner.
Also remember Steve Gibson, captain of the Quad city team we played in the finals, Ronnie Vogel who is with Rockford now. These are just some of the Spitfires from the last 20 years.
But just about every Canadian born
NHL player has come out of one of the CHL leagues
You're saying I'm No. 1, aren't you Hit? You're just using the Tony Horacek form.
LOL.
