Tailing the Komets

SPT0503Komets

April 27, 2010 - Fort Wayne, Ind. - Fort Wayne's Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock, right, flips the puck into the goal to score the Komets' third goal in the first five minutes of the first period of Monday's Game 7 of the Turner Cup Championship semifinal series. Schrock scored again in the third period, and the Komets came back from a 3-1 series deficit to beat the Port Huron IceHawks 4-0 and advance to defend their back-to-back Turner Cup Championships.

How does David Franke feel about that situation? I really can't believe that every year the K's have these issues with the MC.

Honestly, if we pay Musky.....we get what we get....we would be the #2 seed.

What a start tonight for the Komets, they took the PH Ice Chokers out of the game within 5 minutes of the game...

Does it matter what David feels? It's not like there is another facility here they can use, or for that matter the other tenants/groups are in the same situation.

In the overall scheme I'm sure the coliseum makes a lot of money from the Komets playing there but they sure don't make enough to make them the only show. It's been how many years since the Komets have had to pay rent?

I also feel some of these arrangements suck. I'm also not happy at the prospect of playing Muskegon four games in five days or what ever the schedule works out to be but if the team doesn't own the facility then this is what happens.

Good point Steve. Hopefully getting the season over with earlier will help to with 72 games next year. If it were up to me I would have the regular season over with at the end of March and the playoffs done by April 21st. Weather is to nice to be playing hockey in May. This is a winter sport is it not?? Having mowed the yard three or four times now it sure does not feel like winter to me!

Tim....go to Canlan....sit in their "stands"....it's about 10 degrees there. It feels like winter all the time then! LOL...besides, hockey is a year-round sport. The kid plays it in the street as well! (yeah, yeah, I know what you mean. The guys do need a break and all...)
