St. Pierre, Dupuis honored

Kevin St. Pierre and Guy Dupuis were named second-team all-United Hockey League today.

Also, now it turns out Scott Dickie will be starting in goal for the IceHogs. According to the IceHogs, the rule says a third goaltender must be an amateur, and it doesn't say anywhere in the rule that they are an emergency back-up. They have to be activated in order to play. It's a mess.

Former Komet Tracy Egeland was also fired today as coach of the Central Hockey League's Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. He had a three-year record of 84-87-17.

Former Komets coach John Torchetti was fired along with the rest of the coaching staff by the Los Angeles Kings over the weekend. Torchetti had a 5-7 record as an interim coach with the Kings and has been promised he'll be allowed to interview for the job sometime this summer. Former Komet player and coach Rob Laird is still working for the Kings as a scout.

Rockford goaltender Michel Robinson is done for the first round with an ankle injury. He's been placed on the seven-day injured reserve.

Do you really believe its Robinson's ankle and not the knee ? Sounds like the team is using the ankle to take the heat off that he may have come back too soon, and saying it is the ankle transfers some blame to the infamous Komet "slash". Robinson himself said he felt something went he went down early in 2nd period, then they put gag order on him.

Would that surprise you? Rockford, being the team that they are, and having the coach that they have, would hide anything they could.
