Steal this speech

I guess we should feel flattered that someone across the world thinks so much of a Hoosier that she reaches back here to steal his words:

AN ANALYSIS of a report written by the head of University of Sydney's Conservatorium of Music reveals that up to two-thirds of the text is identical to material drawn from speeches and documents from overseas sources.

[. . .]

A substantial amount of the February report is identical to the text of speeches by the former president of Indiana University, Adam W. Herbert. It included a list of goals for the future, and statements about wisdom and knowledge.

Professor Herbert said last week Professor Walker had never contacted him to request permission to quote from or use portions of his speeches.

Leave it to an education bureaucrat to steal the scintillating prose of another education bureaucrat. Heaven forbid the report should be spiced up with a little filched Steinbeck or Proust.
