I get to work with some really talented folks, and most days it's a blast. All of our photographers love shooting the Komets.
And don't forget to check out Shutterbug's site. There's a link on the left under Komets photos.
Great slideshow and I too would suggest a visit to shutterbugs website
Sweet Slide show....and Domber has def slimmed down.
Great job to Steve. Wonder if he might do something like that during the season?
I can not find the link......help
Pretty awesome slide show Steve.
Top Shelf you might have to copy and paste.
Morency better keep his head up.
Any fights?
Yep they dropped the gloves and squared off with their teammates in a preseason skate. It was awfully bloody, but we knew you guys wouldn't like to see that kind of stuff so we kept it out. Who knew Hukalo could throw them like that?
Who'd Huck go with?
All of the photographers on the staff are excited about the story-telling possibilities that multimedia affords us. We hope to do more audio slideshows, but they do take a good amount of work to produce. We are still working to streamline the production process.
While I can't say that we have a set numbers of shows we intend to produce, I can say that I am planning to do an audio slideshow for the home opener against Quad City.
Personally, I am a huge fan of hockey. I especially enjoy shooting hockey games, and I can't wait for the start of the season. Now, if only we could convince Mr. Brown that we should have shooting holes cut in the glass down in the corners of the rink - like the pro rinks have - the pictures would improve immensely. I guess that falls in line with wishing in one hand and ... well, you get the idea.
See you soon!

I wish that they would place some shooting holes in the plexiglass and perhaps a smaller in the glass where the goal judge sits to make communication easier. Each hole could be drilled in about 5 minutes or less and the cost of the hole saw bit is nothing outrageous.
Bob,
Actually they can't just saw a hole out of existing glass as it would compromise the integrity of the entire sheet of glass. The hole would have to be made when the sheeet of glass is formed. I learned that part in my research into this matter. I haven't approached the Coliseum about it yet - mostly because I'm told it would be pointless to do so. In any case, the holes would be no big deal down in the corners where the odds of a direct shot into the hole would be minuscule.
Actually I should clarify a bit on where I would like to see the holes in the glass. I think the corners would be good, but not where the seating is. I'm talking about the spot just as you walk up the ramp just to the side of where the hand railing is. Nobody ever sits there, and if a puck ever did make it into the hole, it would just hit the concrete wall behind it ... unless I have my lens there, That would suck, but I'm willing to take the chance.
