I expect this to be the biggest thread on here this week.
Who do you want to win, who do you think will win and why?
I want the Colts to win so we can sell some papers and make some money; I think the Saints will win because their defense is better. Only reason I say that is because Dwight Freeney will be playing on one leg. He's just too important for the Colts, especially against this offense.

I'll take the Colt's. #1 I want them to win. #2 They are not Da Bears. #3 Frenney will be there and he can rest all summer. #4 The Colts defense has been underated all season. #5 Peyton Manning will take the Saints apart just like he has every other team in the NFL. I will go out on a limb and say Colts 35 - Saints 24.
Colts 31
Saints 27
Reggie Wayne 1TD, Dallas Clark 1TD, Austin Collie 1TD.
Bethea has at least 1 INT.
Reggie Bush has a fumble.
Saints D is better........WWWWWHHHHHHAAAAAAATTTTTTTT???????????
Hit Somebody!!! just fell of his couch and is twitching all over drooling on the floor.
I want the Colts to win because I've been a fan since they moved to Indy, I've suffered through the Jeff George era and the 1-15 teams... wait, wasn't that the same years? LOL I also just went out and bought a Dallas Clark jersey, gonna wear it to work Friday whether the boss likes it or not! And if God forbid the Colts don't win, the BF will be unbearable for the next month. Can't have that... Go Colts!
I say:
Colts 21
Cowboys 27
Let's go Boys!!!!
Please ban Hoss for that, tomfoolery. :-)
Geaux SAINTS. Can't stand the colts can't stand Patsy I mean Peyton manning. Colts football = euro hockey
It's a good thing you do high school football and not pro... Colts defense was ranked 18th to 21st, depending on the weekend and the network you want to believe, Saints was 22nd to 26th with the same considerations. I'm not sure how that makes the Saints better, but maybe there is some strange +/- football stat I'm unaware of. In the postseason the Saints were ranked 9th out of 12 teams for total yards per game, while the Colts are 5th. Either the above statement about the Saints having a better defense is a ploy to get people riled up and talking on here, or it's plain ignorance. I'm hoping for the first, but then again, I know who the Bears fans are and that kind of tells what certain people know about professional football...
I will give you the Freeney comment though. He's reportedly trying every type of treatment on the planet and is going to be getting them up until gametime, but Polian said on Indy's radio that it looks like Freeney has a torn ligament. That being said, I'm very nervous. Brees is a great QB from the great state of Purdue, but I'll have to hate him on Sunday. GO COLTS!!!
GO SAINTS!!!
The Komets game was wild at the end, they give up the game tying goal at 2:30ish left in the terd period, and then less than 10 seconds later Schrocky scores the game winner, and Syro tacks on anoher 30 seconds later. Wow. Odd to say the least. Boucher made about 20 unreal saves that easily could have been goals. He saved the K's Bacon tonight. He proves once again, that he alone can steal a game when need be.
who cares i thought this blog was about a real sport. (hockey) and if not in that case go bears
colts willl win if they stop the saints running game and put pressure on drew. ive been a colts fan since 1959 so i want them to win cause now they arent just my team they are indianas team!
Da Colts! 300 to 3. ;)
Regarding the Komets game tonight... THAT'S what I'M talking about! :D
Bears.........Colts win 72-6 by scoring no offensive touchdowns.
The Colts....mainly because I am a Homer and root for them. And...Frozen Water...Purdue is a state? OK. Here I thought I was the ditzy one (and I am, don't get me wrong...LOL). Just kidding ya, man. I thought maybe the cold meds had kicked in a little early there for me.
Wendy, I like your score prediction. I'll take that. I think Burgee's might be closer, but either one is fine with me. Go Colts!!
jungle, so i should take the over? i think its at 57, highest ever.
Blueline: It's a saying from a license plate. I thought it was a classic so I used it.
While I doubt that Freeney will play, I still think that the Colts have enough offense and a decent enough defense to win another Super Bowl.
My prediction: Colts 31, Saints 28
Homer.....bandwagon...all the same....one more reason to dislike the colts some fans are true others are not. And the ones that are not are the majority too many around here. Nawlins by 4
From Burgee's sure bets dot com, send me 10 percent of your winnings;
Coin flip - heads
Over under 39 - under
Colts are giving 4 take the colts.
Weather rain no rain take rain
One of the lowest scoring games in superbowl history, yes.
Will the bears make the playoffs within the next 10 years odds are about the same as the red wings winning a cup in that time frame. Not a chance
I agree me78, its sickening how EVERYONE in the last 5-plus years is the Colts biggest fan... With that said they are a great team, and probably will win... Hoping they don't though... Geaux Saints!!
These two teams are very evenly matched. The difference is the Saints' db's are better, but not by much, and they have a huge special teams advantage.
The Colts have dealt with injuries all season, and I think they'll still be ok with a lesser Freeney because the linebackers have really stepped up (mostly due to the amount of attention Freeney draws).
I think it will come down to turnovers. My pick is 34-31 Saints.
So now instead of "Who's a real Komets fan" it's "Who's a real Colts fan"? In that case, no I'm not a Colts fan. I don't think I ever claimed to be. I do like and respect Peyton and the Manning family, but I don't even know who their new coach is, not to mention that blowing off their perfect record rubbed me the wrong way. Meanwhile, the part of me that loves underdogs certainly wouldn't mind seeing NO win this year. It would be one heck of a story after Hurricane Katrina. I still think the Colts will win, though.
What's the Superbowl?
I have Colts jerseys
Note: watch where you are buying your Colts jerseys, lots of fakes & knockoffs. Most everything on e-bay is fake.A real Colts jersey should run from 150-200 dollars.
I am hoping for a Saints victory on Sunday. I have never been a Colts fan and I will never be one. I would agree with Chad when he says that both teams are evenly matched. I hope it is a great game where the lead goes back and forth and when that final second ticks off the clock at the end of the 4th quarter, I hope the Saints have more points. If the Colts win, I will be disappointed, but I'm a little use to that being a Bengals fan.
Go Komets (I'm looking forward to Wednesday and Friday's game) and Go Saints!
I, also, am a Bengals fan. I have never, ever been a Colts fan. ( They belong in Baltimore. ) However, I am going to root for the Colts for these two reasons, 1) the Bengals and the Colts are both in the AFC and, 2) so many of my friends are Colts fans that I would like for them to experience the happiness of seeing their team win the Super Bowl. ( If the shoe were on the other foot I would like to think that they would root for the Bengals.).....Why doesn't the NFL come to its senses and play the Super Bowl on Saturday nights instead of playing on Sunday? With the extra week in between, teams have plenty of time to put in and practice their game plan.
I'm conflicted... I should pull for the home state Colts to win the Super Bowl; but I'm also a big Purdue and Drew Brees fan so..... Not sure at this point, may end up flipping a coin...
I tell you who wont win...the NFL, if they continue with this ridiculous cease order handed out to these people down south selling the 'Who Dat' shirts... What a joke, the NFL doesnt own that phrase...its been around forever! The multi billion dollar company is going after the small businesses in Louisiana for a few extra bucks... The NFL (the business) is becoming a joke.
alan, why do you say the colts belong in baltimore? dont give me that crap that indy stole the team in the middle of the night. the fact is the colts didnt start in baltimore and baltimore took them from another city. thats just sports! even the new york yankees dindt start in new york, they were the original baltimore orioles and what about the komets? we are actually the original franchise from flint.
