If the Komets play Rockford in the first round, the first two games will be played April 21 and 23 in ockford The IceHogs announced the dates on Wednesday. If those dates hold up, Komets President Michael Franke said it's likely the Komets would play Games 3 and 4 on Wednesday, April 26 and Saturday, April 29, meaning Game 5 would likely be Sunday, April 30 in Rockford. Game 6 would probably be played Tuesday, May 2 in Fort Wayne and Game 7 Wednesday, May 3 in Rockford.
Though the dates are to be determined, Komets playoff tickets are on sale at the Memorial Coliseum box office or through Ticketmaster.

Wow....Sat, Sun, Tues, Wed? Brutal. Hope we put it together early and put them away. Would hate to win a 7 game series against Rockford being beat to death and fizzle in the 2nd round. That is really brutal!!!
It's no different than last year's schedule. That's the way it always is. This could actually be a great schedule to give Chaulk a chance to recover.
Still, brutal.
FAN. Chaulk called you that dirty 3 letter word. No wait, he said SUPER FAN!!! LOL
See if I ever write anything nice about him again. He'll be clinging to Justin's leg looking for sympathy!
Hey, we'll take him if you don't want him.
Super Fan - i'm smelling smoked pork, are you? We need to stick it to martinson, i mean the hogs. I like my pork spare ribs smoked slowly, say about as long as it takes to play 7 games.
Sueeeey, suey suey. Everyone head out to the games this weekend. We'll have 17 there friday and 40 plus on saturday. What a way to end the season, both teams we face need to win, we can spoil it for them, but i'm giving Tarry to K-zoo.
With the 2 new teams going into a division w/Q.C. And Rockford does that mean the K's will be going back to the east, with richmond and roanoke rumored to be done ???
Great question, JR. I have been wondering the same thing with two new teams in Illinois. Will Missouri be back? How about Flint and Port Huron in addition to Richmond and Roanoke?
Just a wild opinion, throw out the East, find a way to form a midwest type of league with mainly Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, etc. I know it is easier said than done, but isn't it much more logical and economical?
I would think Richmond and Port Huron would have a chance to be back.
Was Richmond going to move to the Chicago area. You'd have to believe/think/HOPE Roanoke is gone, then.
Memo to UHL: Forget teams in that area.
I'd love to see FW in a division with the Michigan teams, but with those guys hanging out in NY, it's hard to figure out a way to do it unless you stick PH and/or Flint in with the NY teams.
Put FW, Musk, Kal and MC together.
Missouri, QC, Rock, Chicago.
Maybe it would work.
There's going to be a lot of changes this summer, especially if the gas prices stay where they are at. Eventually this will be a Midwest league because the economics demand it and will force it. Be patient.
A-MEN!!!
Let's face it, the gas prices and such might force all of minor league hockey to re-examine quite a few things.
If the UHL went back to a regional base league it will be more attractive to fans and re-establish the rivalries that we have loss with expansion. The league has no business being in the east and south east period.
These gas prices are one of the reasons why the wife and I have only taken in two (2) road games this season....that and family functions on her side of family...we have been to Chicago suburbs five (5) times this season (I really wish her family would not schedule events on a game night!!!!) The Eastern Division is a joke; I have lost count of how many teams have come and gone, not to mention "future expansion" teams that have never made it past the "Hey, let's place a team here!" phase. Confine the UHL to IN, MI, OH, IL, MO and maybe WI.
Blake-Super Fan, we had this conversation some time back and you have really changed your tune. Glad to see. I think this league really needs to examine where it is going, say 5-10 years from now. Also the ECHL and CHL need to take a hard look too. Any chance that the big brother NHL will make any influences on the future of minor league hockey to better align the teams in leagues?
If the 16 teams are in the league next year here is what they could do.
West (Division 1)
1. Quad City
2. Rockford
3. Bloomington
4. Chicago
West (Division 2)
1. Fort Wayne
2. K-Zoo
3. Muskegon
4. Missouri
East (Division 1)
1. Motor City
2. Flint
3. Port Huron
4. Elmira (Because they are closer going through Canada)
East (Division 2)
1. Adirondak
2. Danbury
3. Richmond
4. Roanoke
If they only have 14 next year they could just have 8 teams in the West and 6 in the East. Top 4 get in playoffs from each Conference.
Or they could do this....
West Division
1. Quad City
2. Rockford
3. Bloomington
4. Chicago
Midwest Division
1. Fort Wayne
2. K-Zoo
3. Muskegon
4. Missouri
North Division
1. Flint
2. Motor City
3. Port Huron
East Division
1. Adirondak
2. Danbury
3. Elmira
I think, no inside information, that Richmond and Roanoke are done, and who knows what's going to happen with Danbury if anything? This might turn out to be an old-school summer like in the old IHL days when they are working all summer on stabilizing things with franchises. Before anyone goes crazy on that, that's the normal way of doing business in the minors for decades.
Wasn't Richmond drawing better as the season went on?
Charlie, why would you put Missouri in with Fort Wayne instead of Chicago?
Yeah, but if Roanoke goes, then Richmond's expenses probably double at least and then it won't work.
Hey Blake (aka Super Fan),
Didn't the Richmond ownership (Eric Margeneau?) supposedly send Robbie Nichols to Illinois (I can't remember which city) to get things established there?
Also, to Tony E and Rick, according to Port Huron's website, the Flags will be back next year.
I also like Bob's comment. Weren't we supposed to be playing the Lehigh Valley Xtreme (Xtremely STUPID nickname) and the Ohio Arctic Express, nee Canton Express, nee Canton something or other by now? The former Saginaw Gears franchise, which went to Port Huron as the Beacons and is (for now) in Roanoke must have set some kind of a record for most name and logo changes.
I don't like to see teams move around, but at least with two coming to the Midwest, maybe this will be a more stable league. I still think the UHL should try and trade the Elmira, Adirondack, and Danbury franchises to the ECHL for Toledo, Dayton, and Johnstown - still dreaming I guess.
If you haven't already done so, intotheboards.net has posted that the Hoffman Estates, Illinois team will be known as the Chicago Hounds. This team is led by Eric Margeneau.
Tony from what i understand the uhl wants the new teams with quad city and rockford leaving missouri wih us.
