Tailing the Komets

Thank goodness for Larry Sterling

Seemed like everyone had some fun tonight at Larry's expense.

Komets won the game 4-2 as Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock and Sean O'Connor were the stars. The youngsters have really shown up big of late. Kind of a typical Port Huron road game, waiting to take advantage of mistakes for offense.

I didn't see that. He was fine in the locker room, and I didn't see him in the training room at all.

Port Huron always seems to play a very boring road game but they don't look like the PH of old from a talent stand point. I hate to say this but they miss Jeff Zehr. It is great to see a kid like Schrock having success, but one thing I have notice about the kid he earns his ice time by the way he plays the game...He is all in all the time when he steps on the ice. And I do think the call on Chaulk for highsticking was the correct one. I am not sure but I think a linesman can help make the call on stick infractions..Blake will correct me if I am wrong

Linesman made it and you are correct, that is a call he's allowed to make. They got it right.

I wasn't able to make the game, what was the fun with Larry? Just the basic Larry chant or something different?

And remember there was a hawthorne as a linesman tonight, what a terrible call.
Speaking of horrible, Bouchard got a game misconduct tonight in their loss to dayton

Everything Langdon called tonight was basically a good call...(yes, Hukalo's trip was a great call)

However we could argue all night on what he didn't call...

Michael... Geesh, sorry I missed you! I wanted to touch base with the person I'm interviewing next Friday, and didn't get a chance to do that until the second intermission. I did walk over to 203 after the game to see if you were still there (a few people were), but I didn't see you. Actually, I think I may have just remembered your jersey # incorrectly. It's 98? D'oh! I was thinking 89. I did see someone standing and talking in a 98 jersey. Would that have been you? :S

Sorry but the Huck call was a terrible call. They ran into each other with their skates. I don't know which game you were watching.

Good game tonight, btw. I was wondering if they'd come out a bit flat being the third game in three nights once again, but there was some good hustle out there. It was good to see after the game in Muskegon on Friday. It was good to see them get the win over another top-rated team.

That was a very entertaining hockey game. I especially was appreciative of how the team moved and shot the puck during their two power plays. Even though they went 0-2 on the power play they put pressure on the Port Huron penalty kill unit. Continuing to do that will result in many power play goals this year. The first Port Huron goal was just bad luck for the K's as the Port Huron player stepped out of the penalty box to accept what started as an attempt to ice the puck.....the game may have been the most "complete" game they have played at home all year....third game in three nights but the K's still had their "legs" which is good for their confidence.....it is real important that the league find a good investor for the Dayton franchise. The league also should do everything possible to help advertise the Dayton, Quad City, and Flint franchises in their respective markets. The "other leagues" would like nothing more than to see the IHL fail. If the IHL handles this correctly it may give confidence to those who may like to invest in future franchises (Peoria, Rockford, Indianapolis) when their markets open up.....I'm not one to point fingers at the officials, but it seems like Bob Langdon sure misses a lot of infractions for whoever the K's are playing.

I saw the same thing on the call against Huk... He stuck his leg out there on purpose and tripped up the guy... Like the tripping penalty against O-Linemen in the NFL...

It's always fun to heckle Larry, mainly because he usually smiles about it. It would not be as much fun if he didn't. I love that we get into his head, even though he swears that we don't. Riiiight, Larry.....

It seems like a love/ hate deal with Larry, maybe its time to bring him into the fort next year, everyone like scotty gruhl when he had the fireball sweater on.

I don't drink beer.....I'm already set for an interview. I just don't know yet which night Wendy has me down for. My son's is on the 18th of December. So I get to follow the cutest kid and hockey player ever. I will look totally boring in comparison. But maybe I can find something to talk about. Just don't bring up cages, Wendy, and we'll be ok....mightbite knows what I mean....so does Sergei Durdin, but he's not here to defend himself! LOL

Hmmmm, Larry in a Komets uni? Well, better than that clown Zehr. I might get used to it. But he'd darn sure have to do more than sit on his duff on that bench and open the door! Shoot, I can do that. And look better at it than he does, probably. LOL

BLB's locked in for an interview. I just don't have a date scheduled yet. I wanted to do it at least a few games apart from Jason's so she wouldn't feel intimidated! LOL. That and since I know her pretty well, I know I can count on her if I'm having trouble lining someone up. Always a good thing.

But my next guest is a female fan -- our very own FiveMinuteMajor. :)

Michael -- Oh right, the Bud Suite. Yeah, that'd be you then. :S Well, hopefully I'll catch you on Friday. Just let me know where you'll be once you know.

mightbite -- Hey, whatever it takes to get people to agree. Getting them sloshed might not be a bad idea. LOL.
