Something I missed while I was on vacation last week:
In 2009, roughly 47% of households, or 71 million, will not owe any federal income tax, according to estimates by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.
Obviously more income redistribution is called for.

But note from the chart how many people making over $50,000 and even $100,000 don't pay income tax, including 6,000 making more than $1 million. The point isn't necessarily who doesn't pay but how many don't. If fewer and fewer keep paying the way for more and more, at some point the fewer are going to have had enough.
What's the fetish over federal income tax about? For some reason other kinds of taxes never seem to count as much.
