They'll find you anywhere

If you ever doubted that telemarketers were out of control:

The federal government has decided to put its own secret Homeland Security hotline to the nation's 50 governors on the federal Do Not Call Registry, according to Delaware Gov. Ruth Ann Minner.

The move came after a complaint Thursday by Minner, who said that when her line rings, chances are it's not an emergency but an unwanted intrusion. "Every time that phone rings, it's telemarketers," she said in Washington.

I had always thought that when you added your number to a do-not-call list, it meant no-one could call. When I continued to get annoying calls, I read the fine print and found out that if you already have a "business relationship" with a company, they can call you with other "offers" whenever they wish. (that means ANYONE you've EVER done business with - all the banks, credit card companies, phone companies, etc.) Don't know if this is just a state thing (Texas) or is all over, but the do-not-call list doesn
