Three cheers

It's about damn time:

Mo-ped operators in Indiana would need a valid driver's license and have to get the motorized scooters insured under legislation state Sen. Ron Alting plans to propose in the upcoming General Assembly session.

Three cheers for Rep. Alting. Mo-peds are already a danger on the road. With even more expected to be out there because of gas prices, now is a good time to try to reduce the menace.

I REALLY hope you're being sarcastic there, and not simply dumb.

If the Amish have to plate and register a horse & buggy, I would think it only common sense (I know, that's risky to bring up in this day and age) to plate a MOTORIZED cycle that has the ability to travel at 30 mph and dart in and out of traffic.

That's kind of "duh" isn't it?

If it can go faster than 25mph it's a scooter, not a mo-ped, and already has to be plated and requires a motorcycle endorsement and insurance.
