Blake--You just continue to amaze me with your writing abilties. Great column as always. I really appreciate the bump on the bus trip. It is filling up slowly but surely.

Were you able to find anything out about fines or suspension from the Flint/Bloomington came last week? They play each other again this Friday.

I will be accused of a blog foul for sucking up. I can take it. Penalty--One whole game in the box with one redhead and no Foo Foo's. I'll serve that game Feb. 3rd. with Wendy. We actually have that planned. It will be fun for her I am sure. She will learn alot she don't know.

No further suspensions from the Flint/Bloomington game. The league is saying everybody got what they had coming to them from the penalties the referee handed out.

Dschebig, you may have opened up Pandora's Box. Now that you have OK'd it for Wendy to sit in the box with you, you will probably get requests from a lot of other people too. Not sure how you can allow one and not the others.

Jones is cool with defenseless players being beaten into the ice... first Shaf, now Bogas. I hope the Generals get some payback on Friday night. They should jump Sawyer the way he did Bogas.

DSchebig....we were numbers 4, 5, and 6 to sign up for the bus trip. We're in! And I hope you have lots of fun on the 3rd with Wendy. That should be cool, and very interesting. I learned a lot just keeping score at a youth game that I did not know about hockey, so I imagine she will get lots out of it, seeing as she has tons more knowledge than I do, that's for sure!

Just so everyone knows, I never asked Dennis to let me sit there. He invited me. Totally different animal. And I don't think I'm the first as I seem to recall him talking about the same thing with Burgee on this blog earlier in the season. And Dennis, I'm just hoping no one adjusts their behavoir because I'm sitting there batting my eyelashes at them. Should be fun, regardless.

And a very happy birthday to Chaser tomorrow! :D

Alan--I had to walk a tight rope to get Wendy. The fact that she is media was the selling point. Actually Pandora's box is closed. One redhead is all I can handle. Trust me I know how to say NO!

Wendy-- I am very much looking forward to having you share the experience. It will expand your knowledge of just what it is Off-Ice Officials do and go through. Trust me on this NO one will change the way they do anything. Your not the first "media" type to be there. I am not even sure they will clean up their mouths for you. I want you to hear the "game according to Larry the PA guy" You will absolutley say he is watching a completely different game than you are. Most important is to enjoy yourself and learn something you didn't know before. I am pretty sure redheads can do that.;)

I am wanting macmillan to pay a little more hockey. he did really well in the playoffs last year when he actually played hockey. i hate to say it, but i think he is turning into a "goon." A real one at that. :(

Schebig, were you wearing tights when you walked the tight rope? Wendy can enjoy all the free food and beer the off ice officials get during the game. Blogfoul Schebig, brown nosing superfan, you and wendy got the same penalty this week so u may as well serve them together.

Can we not bring up league hopping until summer, its bad enough hearing all that during the off season.

Thanks for clearing that up, Dschebig. I was confused because I thought you had posted earlier that you could have people with you as long as you had enough notice. I don't remember you stating it had to be "media". I'm not sure where I got that impression. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for clearing it up for me. I guess I never thought of Wendy as being in the "media." Come to think of it, I never considered Tim Hoke and Randi Marcum being in the media also. I need to think that through a little.

Alan--You heard it right the first time. I am the one that said it. I may have been speaking out of turn just little as I had not checked it out. Channel 57 is Public access and that is real TV. That makes them media.

This blog is media, I participate therefore I am media! My turn, I want in the box when hawthorne is in town so we can trade jabs. I'll bring Pepsi and dog biscuits but I want to press the scoreboard horn button.

I'll just put myself in the imaginary penalty box for what I just said out loud....:)

Steve, that's funny! My husband was probably right behind you in Komet Kuarters buying the tickets! And if you do get any good shots, bring 'em on the bus trip, find me (another redhead), and let me see them. I'd love to!! Well, I'll be pretty easy to spot. You'll see me as Wendy's next guest, barring any editing by Otto...I'll promise to try to behave myself, Wendy.

Burgee, you can come sit in the box with me Saturday mornings at Jason's games. They can get pretty exciting sometimes....fights beforehand, a plus-5 defenseman, what more can you ask for (besides foo-foo drinks, I know...)? They are pretty early right now, though....ugh...

Burgee
Thu, 01/21/2010 - 9:27pm

I just got done with the oh dark thirty games, we are at 930 or so now! Woo hoo, I have hot chocolate and hooch for morning games

BLB, I wonder if they have the editing capability to bleep out words or if they have to find another way of dealing with it.

Why don't you throw out a few choice words just to test it for those who might be interviewees in the future?

Wendy
Thu, 01/21/2010 - 11:17pm

Burgee: Hey, funny you should mention that as there is a lot of debate about that at the moment. But it involves the people who run the blogs, not the people who respond to them.

Dschebig: That's 55, not 57... So despite what Randy says, I AM a real reporter? Woo-hoo! All those journalism classes finally paid off! As for Tim and Randy, all I know is the chain they use to section off the area in which they record the show has a sign on it that says "Working media only". So there you go.

Wendy

Steve... So I should bring some lollipops, then? Bananas? Maybe a toasty torpedo from Quiznos?

Dschebig
Fri, 01/22/2010 - 5:28am

Hey!!I didn't get Quiznos, but the cookies were really good. Sorry Wendy I can not get local access cable so I hardly ever get it right. 55 for me is FOX.

Burgee
Fri, 01/22/2010 - 7:15am

Cookies, all I got was hoarse! No wonder she gets to sit in the box with Schebig, well I'm not baking any stinking cookies!

Everybody has been very polite, so I'll be polite too. No further comments except for this: the mens room says "men", but I 've seen plenty of people using it that I would have questions about.

Dschebig
Fri, 01/22/2010 - 10:04am

Alan-- 4 or 5 Foo Foo's and Burgee is in there all the time. I never checked so I don't know the answer to this, does he sit down or stand up?

Burgee
Fri, 01/22/2010 - 10:31am

After 5 you have to sit down!

Steve
Fri, 01/22/2010 - 11:53am

I've seen women "share" the men's room several times, usually commenting about how they can no longer take the wait for the women's restroom. It was usually in a bar or club, never the Coliseum, and one time at Soldier's Field during a Bears game.

Wendy, the referee for the Feb. 3 game isn't posted yet but you may want to consider that when taking items into the box with you. What's the worse he could do about your conduct in there? Toss you out of the game? You could just move to a regular seat and he probably wouldn't know the difference. Well, maybe. I forgot about the red hair.........

Blueline Baby
Fri, 01/22/2010 - 2:13pm

LOL...Burgee, I forgot, you bigger guys are playing the later games. You are forgiven for deserting me in the dark hours. That's ok. ;) I'll just have to bring my own loaded hot chocolate...thanks for the great idea! Foo-foo up!

Steve...I better try to behave myself. I would not want to embarrass Wendy, since they all know who I am up there (well, mainly Tim does, anyway), and I don't want to make Otto do any extra work bleeping me out! LOL He's a good guy and has a hard enough job without me complicating things, I'm sure!

And Alan, what did I miss? All of a sudden we went from the scorekeeper's box to the bathroom? I must have missed a key post in there somewhere....it's ok. Maybe you did not type slowly enough for me. I'll try to catch up one of these days. It's all good. ;)

Perhaps Feb 3rd should be "redhead" night at the game? Everyone can dye their hair red temporarily in honor of the event. Then everyone who is not on this blog would be wondering what in the heck is going on. Much like I do in my everyday life! :)

Dschebig
Fri, 01/22/2010 - 3:06pm

Blueline Baby--You haven't missed a thing! The box and the john are one and the samething. If you embarrassed Wendy (if that's possible) how would you know? Does she get all red?

Blueline Baby
Fri, 01/22/2010 - 3:30pm

Whew....I am a little ditzy, so I was hoping I had not completely lost it there. Thanks for the help, DSchebig!! And Wendy keeps her cool pretty well. She's a very mellow person, which is so the opposite of myself. It's a great skill to have! I don't embarrass easily myself, either, though....I make a fool of myself so often that it's routine for me, so I'm used to it by now.
