"Crazy night" is the correct description of last nights game. I never thought that this would be an easy series to win. Too many comebacks by Flint during the last third of the season to think anything different.

I have to admit, though, being a fan, if someone would have told me before the game that the K's would score six goals, get a hat trick from Syro in the first period, and Chewy would get two goals in the game, I would have bet most anything that the K's would win.

Still, to come back from behind so many times during the game, finally take the lead and give up the game tying goal with nine seconds to play is hard to take.

Now we will see which Komet team shows up on Friday. Will it be the team that lost last night not playing their best game (by their own admission), or will it be a team that is resilient, knows that they put six behind Nolan, knows that they need to get back to the defensive play that led the league, knows that with a win they split in Flint and can wrap it up with a win at home on Saturday before a packed house? I'm betting on the Komets to come back with a strong effort on Friday.

Yes, "crazy night" was a great description of the game. These types of unexpected results (thirteen goals in a playoff game) is what makes hockey the great sport it is. It is the "crazy" the makes hockey fun to watch and impossible to predict.

"Crazy" is also a good word to describe the climate we find the sport in today. Potential new owners in Flint. How does that affect Evansville? What happens to the IHL? Where does Fort Wayne fit in next year? The IHL? A different league? An IHL division of a different league? For some it is fun to speculate on the possibilites, to others it seems to drive them crazy ( there is that word again) that people express their thoughts when no one has any real knowledge. I, for one, kind of enjoy the dialogue as it encourages an exchange of ideas.

Yep. "Crazy" is the word for today. It's been a 'crazy" season, so far a "crazy" final series, and it promises to be a very "crazy" offseason.

My wish is that the K's come back on Friday with a win, then win again in Fort Wayne on Saturday and skate around the Memorial Coliseum ice hoisting the Turner Cup high in front of 10,504 "crazy" fans.

Do you guys agree with me? Or am I "crazy"?

OK Running Komet, Dschebig, Blake, and Chad (by the way Chad, how is the baby?) its time to give me the business about this long post.

Once again Alan, great post. I was thinking the same thing last night and again this morning. I BELIEVE we will see a different team on the ice friday night, I BELIEVE we will see a different outcome, I BELIEVE we will have a huge "Crazy" crowd on Saturday. Play your game, play sound defense, control the puck and bury the puck and I BELIEVE we will be Champions once again. Let Go Komets!

They didn't have the Chili stand open last night, boy was i mad! The beer and concession lines were huge, they ran out of canned beer, the boys had to switch to double fisting draft beer. While in the beer line BEFORE the game started one of the Flint fans(who was well lit) was giving BAM24 the business about his Bow-chair (Boucher) jersey, then he asked where fort wayne was, so Rich and BAM convinced him it was in the U.P. It was a good crowd for Flint.

one of the Flint Goals down by us Boucher had the puck stopped underneath him but didn't realize it and his natural motion just knocked it in. The penalty with a minute and a half left in the game, if i was the ref, i wouldn't have called it, a lot of good action was going on i would have just let them play it out.

Flint came out playing like they did in game 6 of the last series but we stayed right with them and if it weren't for a couple of flukes and a just missed empty netter we would have won. But Stuff happens.

Now i don't have to go to flint friday, its a good trip as long as someone else does the driving, i drove home so the boys could enjoy their brew. The package store 1 or 2 exits down from the arena closes at 10, their loss!

Schebig, i got you a birthday present!

Alan, long is not necessarily bad. Your post was, well, "crazy" good.

The baby and his mom are doing great, thanks for asking. In fact, if I didn't know better, I'd say she's enjoying me being on the road for three days.

OK, enough chatter. I have to get to the hot tub. Gotta rest up for tomorrow's game.

The life of a photographer is so taxing. Got to keep that trigger finger in shape.

Hmm...a hot tub. Wonder if I claimed it was for "trigger finger rehabilitation" if I could write it off as a business expense?

Oh, man...Chad I never checked back to see if and what you answered about that awesome picture that you had of Warner and DeAngelis....a couple of people had asked if you'd be selling it as a poster, and I was interested in the response myself. I'm sorry, I got busy and never did see the reply. Would you mind repeating yourself for me? It was just such a great picture.

Chad and I would likely be fired for doing that, but you can order reprints here: http://gallery.pictopia.com/fortwayne/

Blake's on it. I can't sell it personally, but photos can be ordered from the News-Sentinel Pictopia site. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is. In any case, I'm glad you liked the photo.

Fired for repeating yourself? I'm kidding....thanks for the answer. And Chad, you're more than welcome. I have not seen a photo that good in years. NO offense to the other photographers who lave graciously posted links on here over the years. I may be biased towards defenseman, but that was just a really cool shot, no matter what!

Well, Chad, if you'd rather it not be sold, then I'll respect you and not order it. I just would love to have them sign one for my little guy. I'll have to try to get a decent shot of them to see f they can sign at the end of season party! I know I got a half-decent one of Frankie. Now to try for one of Brandon (AKA Barney..)
