You're right, Snuff, it does suck for those who have never done anything wrong, have made sacrifices for the team, and then get dumped for someone who has screwed the team over in the past and his son. Absolutely correct.

I recall the 2 equip guys last year making serious sacrifices to drive the players equipment by Uhaul truck to and from games for several several hours of driving.

I hope if we're propping up QC that we get a piece of that radio station that there owners just bought. We should get something back for the investment!

I'd like to know if there are any facts out there that support the thoughts that the Komets are propping up anyone.

I think they went through that ringer once and have no interest in doing it again.

And before anyone jumps me my request for fact is not sarcastic. I haven't been keeping up with as much hockey reading this summer as I normally do. So I am asking if any other cities either officially or unofficially have eluded to the Komets giving financial aid to them this year.

I don't know. I was just going by what I read here. Figure you all know more than me!

Shawn that's what I am trying to figure out. If this is axe grinding of some sort against the Franke family or if there is something floating out there that links them to assisting other CHL teams either last year or this year.

Maybe the team was unhappy with the employees? Why is this question not being asked?

Andy because it is easier to make the Komets out to be evil than it is to assume they know what they are doing or that they have the right to hire/fire as they see fit.

Snuf, just like most times on this blog when people automatically just to conclusions. Lets face it...NONE of us know EXACTLY what goes on with the team regarding things like this. Maybe some know part or one side of what goes on but there's two sides to everything...

There is always a story...

Sat, 08/27/2011 - 10:51pm

Of course there is...but that story could be that the players or team were unhappy with them just as easily that it could be that they didn't deserve to be let go. What I'm saying is none of us know that for a fact.

I know nothing of why those guys left, or were let go or whatever. I can't understand how those guys could be worse than what they got.

ha, but some do know the story....or stories. and there is alot of stories out there. posting everything online on some blog wouldnt make the people who know any better. but i can tell you, more people know these facts than you think...

Shawn

That the Komets are propping up QC Boone? Because it looks to me like the QC owners could buy and sell the Frankes!

nope, not talking on that subject. lol. i havent a clue these days who, if any, they are helping. new owners in QC and bloomy... i would say they arent now... but who knows. And IMO, i dont see them helping anyone unless it benefits them..

People lose their jobs every day. Some for good reason and some for not. Those who are qualified and don't burn too many bridges behind them tend to find other jobs. Sometimes they even return to their old jobs.

The owner of a business has the right to decide who they want employed under them. The Komets have a very long reputation of taking care of their employees including the players. Sure you can drag out the odd name with a gripe but even many former coaches speak well of the franchise. If the two equipment managers from last year have in fact lost their jobs (I haven't seen Blake or any other credibile source of news say that they have) then I hope they find jobs sooner than later and can take care of their families.
But as a business owner I will always stand behind the right of ownership to steer their ship the way they see fit.

It's life folks....you guys don't seem to whine or complain when a player gets gassed midseason and has a family do you? Or is that just part of the "business"?

Players are let go due to performance on the ice, not because an old friend needs a job. I don't want anyone losing their job, on or off the ice to be honest. Don't get me wrong, there are people that I don't want to play for the Komets, but that's not saying I don't want them to get picked up by another team.
