Good old Pat Burns.
Damn the hockey hall of fame for not putting him in while he was alive to enjoy it. Inexusable since he will be put in one day anyway.

Seriously, Snuff, I don't see that he's baiting you at all, he's just expressing an opinion that doesn't agree with yours. Your wife does that 20 times a minute. LOL.

So let's all let this one die. It's pretty obvious you and neither going to change the other's opinion about Mr. Liambas.

But I will say this, I agree with Hitsomebody. I didn't see an NHL or AHL player when he played here. Maybe he was hurting or whatever. Goodness knows there have been plenty of times i've been watching NHL games and heard Mike Emrick mention somebody and I'm like, ``Who? What the heck is he doing there?''

Now I have to go get bured by football.

Blake he can express his opinion on the player all day that disagrees with mine. But when he starts with the stuff about my reactions to attacks of other players etc.... but it's all good. To ignore is divine... Someone famous once said that lol
My wife... well if she wasn't so dang cute I'd,,,,,well I would do something.

Now...everyone fall over.... HIT is 100% correct. The kid is nothing but a battering ram. But rarely will he take on someone his own size. His speed is nowhere near NHL standards. I bet he is just training camp fodder and he will end up playing in "the middle of nowhere" again this season.

Hit is always....100% correct.

I think Superfan even has that in the blog rulebook somewhere.

It must be in the bylaws.....or in the new CBA.

Love that rule by the way.....it's awesome.

Liambis' style of play has him injured alot... I remember both times he played for Bloomington, he was on the IR alot. Never saw enough of him to give an opinion one way or the other...

He is a team player on the ice that sticks up for his teammates. I read where he fought a player 2 different times at the rookie tournament after they took questionable runs at one of his teammates. And while Brian Burke is GM in Toronto, that will at the least get you an NHL camp invite....

Yeah, right, Snuff. Remember, the most famous and toughest words for any married man to learn, ``Yes, dear, you're right.'' Keep repeating.

Hey, they said the same thing about Kevin Kaminski and he lasted a long time in the NHL. Who knows?

Besides, Snuff, be very careful or I'll tell her you're challenging her publicly, and then you'll really be in trouble. LOL. Hit knows what that's like, right Hit? JR? Wimps!

And you guys wonder why I'm single. Bwa-ha-ha! Bwa-ha-ha!

Lol Blake your cat has you wrapped around her finger!

And who knows. Steve Durbano stuck in the NHL for awhile. I guess anyone can.

But is Liambas better than Pascal Morency?

He did the samethings we are talking about. Hit everything that moves and stick-up for teammates. Heck, he even came off the bench last season in the Pre-Season to stick-up for a fellow player....bad move though.

I just didn't see the skill set that would lead me to believe that he was at the talent level that would put him in the AHL or NHL....no way.

If the only thing you needed to do was be tough and stick-up for teammates, there are dozens of other guys we have seen in the MC that are better hockey players than Liambas and can do that, that never got a sniff in the higher levels.

So once again, I think the trail to the NHL is a politcal march and you have to know someone who is connected, or else you are banished to the lower leagues for life.

Our benefit alot of the time, because we have seen some pretty good players in Fort Wayne that make you scratch your head as to why they never got the chance to move upwards when others have for whatever the reason.

I need hockey.....I need hockey......I need hockey......need I hockey

Hit,
I think Morency was a better skater and had more offensive touch than what I have seen both live and on tape of Liambas.
I actually liked Morency although I thought his overall value was not what some thought it was. He skated hard (most of the time) hit hard and had some front of the net presence.

Schrock is from his mold.....in alot of ways.

Blogfoul, Snuffy, you can not tell hit he is 100% correct, now he will be on fire the rest of the pre-season.

Good for superfan, the blog hit bonuses will be rolling in.

Dang Burgee I never thought about that...
Ok Hit... You suck!!! (KIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDIIIIIINNNNGGGG! lol)

Oh my I am going to have to agree again with Hit...

Schrock is what Liambas wishes he was and a much smarter player than Morency in that Pascal took some STUPID penalties at bad times because he let his emotions get the best of him. Schrock seems to know when to push buttons and when to hold back. Unlike Liambas I didn't see Schrock back down from anyone no matter if he was outweighed or not.
Schrock is a guy who I think could be an end of the bench guy on some AHL rosters right now but I think he made a good choice to stay at this level where he'll get a regular shift. If his skills develop further you might see him get a real look in the next two years.

I liked Morency - he was a good skater and fought anybody that wanted to. Didn't think he had much offensive touch.

I think he did lead the team in goals scored bounced off his backside while he stood in front of the net :)

That is begging for a clever remark - wish I could come up w/one.

Don't think that Schrock is going to be big or strong enough to stick in the AHL. Hopefully I'll be wrong.

Can anyone tell me just how Burgee would possibly know if my feet stink. They don't but if they did Burgee would need to get down and dirty. Trust me on this Burgee don't get down or dirty for anything or anyone. That would imply that he works. We all know he hasn't got a clue what work is.

Why not make the judgement during the preseason game? That way you won't have to sit there and watch the banner raising for the team that brought your community a championship?

poor guy(niaf) says he is gonna test out the new league even though he is very doubtful about it, and all the brass can do is ridicule him before the drop of the very first puck..

Hope the komets prove you wrong naif, and you have a great time. Is cool of you to give it a shot even if it is against your better judgement. /cheers

Schrock is on his way back to Neumann University in Philadelphia to work out with the team this week and get on the ice everyday. Then he goes to Hersery for the Bears camp. Who knows what will happen. Fort Wayne Youth Hockey etc, etc, got him this far--support the youth teams in this town whenever you can!

I would support the Youth Hockey league more if they would utilize the nice new arena they have here in town instead of going to Chicago for Thanksgiving. How bout FWYH start a new tradition and have a tournament here?

Chicago may be more enticing to outside teams than Fort Wayne, Indiana. I know there are people who think Fort Wayne is where it's at, but the majority of the planet would probably disagree. It would be nice to see our local resources used though.

unfortunately chad you cant play every weekend at home. the chicago tournament ( which my son played in last year ) is an awesome tournament and its draw to teams is the holiday and the events around the chicago area, such as shopping, that make it a desireable tournament destination. as hockey parents, these type tournaments are almost like mini vacations , as well as getting our teams a taste of competition.it also is a very large tournament utilizing many rinks in the greater chicago area. our new arena will get its use and there are tournaments already planned for ft wayne.

The "new" rink here needs some seating.....that would be a good idea for tournaments. I personally don't mind standing to watch my kid play and practice, but from what I remember at McMillan, those seats were used. Put in some seating already!! It's been almost one year.
