I thought Mirasty played a pretty regular shift, moreso than I thought he would. He was very impressive not just because of the fight, but it's refreshing to see some powerful checks and someone actually finish the thought of checking an opponent.

My opinion on Mirasty is that he seemed to be always in the action for the puck even though he looked really slow. He almost always seemed to make the right decision on where to go with the puck, be it flip it out of the zone or pass to someone else or whatever. I was kinda bummed he had to play his first game in front of what realistically was more like 4000 people.

Agreed, Jason, but like a few other people have said on here, he hasn't been getting any real playing time for the past few weeks, so he may still have to get his legs under him and his lungs going again. I just think he was all-around fun to watch play. It was cool having people around me announcing "He's on the ice again!" each time he came out. Just cool atmosphere at the game last night. Can't imagine how it would've been if there'd actually been some people there.

It really is a shame that Mirasti will not see a Saturday night home game crowd until February 26th.

That Saturday night game on the 26th is the one I heard a few people from Syracuse are coming down to watch. I hope they make it! I think that would be really neat :)

Glad first game with Mirasty went well. And I could not agree more with what you folks are posting, give im a few games to get back into game shape and he will be fine. If he has not yet, he will get out into the community for events and that is where his personality "shines". He will quickly become a fan favorite, on and off the ice. Glad he has found a place to play a regualr shift. Rather ironic that he was wearing Blue Jackets gear here for a game he watched from the stands a couple of weeks ago and it was down played as "meaning nothing".

Why was Apod scratched last night? I hope he was not a healthy scratch. Also, is there a reason why Francis is on the IR? or is it the numbers game?

Thu, 02/10/2011 - 5:50pm

Mirasty hasn't played for awhile and he had only an hour or so practice with this team. There were times it obvious he wasn't sure where to go with the puck, looking for someone to pass too, etc. Completely understandable. In fact I think I might have let him get more time on the ice and another couple of practices before I would have played him, but since he's here as much for marketing value as anything and the marketing was started before he got here, I suppose he had to be used. Certainly nothing was hurt by his playing.

Give some time to get back in form and work with this team's systems and I think we'll see him contributing more. I'm looking forward to some exciting moments with Jon on the ice.

Apod was a healthy scratch and was very disappointed and Francis is on the 10-day with conjunctivitis (pink eye). But if you ask me he's there for give away itis for the terrible give away in the Komets zone last game he played. Please don't go all PC on me either.

Here is a video from Hoosier TV interviewing players, Jeep Girls, Bob Chase and fans. It looks like we are doing a good job at holding one of our "titles" lol. I thought it was funny when Dupuis said 4 or 5 times this year when they were on the road people would ask him if he is the coach lol.

The first link is a shorter version and the second is the full version.

I am not all PC there kometswin. My only complaint though is that Apod should be playing. I hope he plays tonight.

Apod will have to get a lot more conscientious defensively before he earns more playing time in this lineup.

Fri, 02/11/2011 - 5:12pm

Agreed. I love watching him play but he has to realize there's also the denfense zone. He has slowly gotten better with that but more work is desperatly needed.

Shaf said after A-Pod's first K game, he needed to work at both ends of the ice, not just on offense.

Thanks for the video Komets39. My wife and I saw them at the game and wondered what it was. Enjoyed watching it.

if Apod needs to find the other side of the ice, Curadeau needs to find THE ICE ALTOGETHER!! What is managements obsession with him? He plays terribly and a kid like Apod sits out?!? It's not like he has improved either, he has stayed terrible!
