Regarding strange statistics: I counted 56 home GF, 43 GA in 15 games. That gives the .87 more goals/game you calculated Blake.
Now try it without the game 1 blowout: 45 home GF, 40 GA in 14 games. That lowers the number to 0.36 more goals/game.
I don't think it's strange statistics, just a consequence of one big blowout skewing the results.
