I have all ready talked to Charlie about this elsewhere....but I have to say....I think this is kind of tacky. I know this is a free society and the jersey belongs to him, but I don't see any of the other players pawning their championship season jerseys for cash....yet.

I know he has a need for money due to personal circumstances....I get that...but this kind of slaps people in the face that think these guys actually care about their playing hockey for an IHL Turner Cup. One day after the season ending celebration and jersey auction for charity, this creeps onto ebay.....poor timing. I know it is just a jersey....and I am not the only one that feels this way I am sure. I feel kinda funny about it....I get what he is doing....but it just seems uncomfortable in a way....doesn't it?

I was super-excited when this kid cameback to play for the Komets this year to help us win another cup, alot of people questioned his over-confidence and yapping ability to the other teams.....I backed him saying that he was just trying to get under the other teams' skin. But this new development almost makes things look like what alot were saying about him.

I will say, I enjoyed watching him play hockey, very talented kid with lots of skills and I am glad he played for the Komets....but still, this to me is odd.

I agree it is odd, Hit, but I guess I take the view of who am I to judge? I don't know what Justin's situation is. Maybe this is what he feels he must do for his family, and if that's the case, I congratulate him for having his priorities in order. Maybe I'll get a few hours next week and try to get ahold of him and find out what's going on. I can't get to it this week

Hit I think you should send a message to him through ebay in the ask the seller a question and see if he responds.

You know, I'm perfectly OK with Justin doing this...the only thing I find odd is the reserve/starting bid of $1k. I mean, yeah, his 2007-2008 Jersey went for $5k or something like that, but this year, his GW jersey went for $900 (to fellow blogger Game Misconduct).

I'm not saying that there isn't a hardcore fan out there that won't jump at this, it just seems a bit presumptious to _start_ the bidding at $1k.

At first I raised an eyebrow, but then I realized the jersey is likely one memento out of many, and if it's one he chooses not to keep, that's up to him. Now, if his stick, skates, gloves and mouthguard start showing up on eBay, then I might do some tsk-tsking.

I would've put the starting bid at $500 with a reserve of $750. But that's just me.
