Blake,Very nice job,I did see Jerry Pateman at the game on sunday, maybe that had something to do with the game was called? Do the ref. and the linesmen know when Jerry is at the game?

I noticed that too on Sunday after you pointed it out to me Smitty. I could tell they knew he was in attendance.

Very good article. You took the words right out of my mouth.

And let me be realistic here, the only reason i get to go to all the hockey games is because the wife got into it and started enjoying it.

Now when she starts complaining about the ref's(indirectly "now what?"), which she has, and keep in mind we're talking hockey novice here, my attendance goes into the "in jeopardy" category.

So here is an open plea to Mr. Brosal, i've enjoyed two back to back full seasons of home games, so Please, for the love of my hockey attendance, remind the men in the striped shirts that the more times they blow the whistle and stop play, my hockey novice wife is wondering if spending the evening with hubby and kids watching realty TV is better than going to the good old hockey game.

I hear ya Burgee...my wife hates hockey so I bought her a couple horses to distract her while I bought my season tickets.....so now she has her horses and she doesnt bother me about my hockey addiction......maybe we should get the ref's a pony cause then they may be too distracted to mess up the game..hhmmmmmm

I'm lucky my wife-to-be likes hockey. She was pretty bummed that me and my groomsmen are having my bachelor party at MC this Saturday and she can't come.

I guess it's justice since I'm not allowed to play next Saturday's game against QC at our reception. But we will be at the game Sunday, so I can't complain much.

Now this is one of the funnier threads I have seen ;-) My better (and more intelligent) half loves sports and doesn't think I am crazy for making 3 hour drives (or more) to watch hockey. I am very lucky.

i think its just part of the game, thats how things are. i also am not a fan of instant replay in football. i beleive the officials are part of the game in a way.

I am very lucky to have a wife who wants to go to every game that we can take in (Home and Away!) and lets me tune in to the ones that we cannot go to. In fact she gets really PO'd if the team is playing poorly. She is already looking forward to the 2007 All Star Classic!

We are coming down this weekend. Maybe I will bump into some of you . I am not sure where I will be sitting but if you see a guy in a black sportscoat with a 60's style grey hat, that would be moi ;-)

Tony, I'm confused. Did you say you were in your 60s or just looked like you were FROM the 60s? I'm confused.

And how exactly did you get Ashley?

The refs do stink in this league. We all know it. Every other team in this league and their fans know it. You have to accept it and move on. Both teams have to play the game knowing this. I agree it is tough to play with the inconsistant calls that are made from night to night, and minute to minute. But, bottom line, you have to play through it and tough it out.

I just hope that some of the more obvious "bad" refs aren't going out of their ways to stick it to certain teams. I think you know what I mean.

LOL !!! Blake.
No I am 32 and she is 20 going on 40 when it comes to brains. How did I get her? Believe it or not I was her brothers hockey coach and her folks introduced us. How and why she puts up with me? I will never know.
I have been wearing fedora hats since I was 17. They make me look taller lol.

I know lol It was really weird because when we met she was still 18. But I honestly could have better and more intelligent conversations with her than with alot of people closer to my age. Heck she knew more about 80's music and politics than I did! The wedding is a year from this May. Hopefully she doesn't come to her senses and change her mind.
