Did the Komets score another goal in the locker-room or in the Bus on the way home? I thought the final was 3-1, at least the game I watched on B2 was 3-1 Komets. This article says 4-1??? The goals I saw were Whitehead with 10 seconds left in the 1st......Syro winthin the first minute of the 2nd and Syro mid-to-end of the 2nd......no goals in the 3rd. 3-1 Komets.

Wait......I can faintly hear the goal horn going.....Komets just scored again.....5-1 Komets. Way to Go!!!!

What a great weekend for hockey for me! Komets win both their games, and my son's team won theirs today 8-3, boosting their season record to 4-1-0 !! And the Sharks finally pulled one out as well. Yay!

I hope your son is playing on the select team. House league should be supplemented with select so that he is ready to play travel hockey.

A few days ago, when it was announced that Sean O'Conner had been released from the kalamazoo Wings, I contributed some thoughts on why it would make sense for him to sign with the K's and ended with the thought that there are times during the season when the GM really earns his money. Well, as everyone knows by now, during the "ring" presentations it was announced that O'Conner had signed that afternoon. I just wanted to take a moment to say "great job" David Franke for getting this done. I believe that O'Conner may have been the most "complete" player on the ice during the playoffs last year and will be a great addition to this team. The fact that he is considered a rookie is just "icing on the cake."

Hey, everybody. I finally have a new Flickr set put together for some shots I snapped at the October 9 preseason game against Muskegon. Yeah, yeah, I know this is late, but I think they are interesting none-the-less. Plus, viewed individually, you can read my own humorous captions, which in most cases I've decided to actually put in the captions (instead of the titles) this season. Or you can see the full size slideshow. I recommend... both. :)

P.S. Don't hold your breath for opening night shots as I forgot my camera.

Nice pictures Wendy. Some of the captions were pretty funny. Keep up the great work.

GHockey: We did not put him in Select this season. He's in Mite only until the end of December, then age changes are making him move up to the Squirt level, so there really was no point in spending all that money to get him onto a team for a couple months, and there are no Squirt teams in Select, is what we have been told. So nope, not this season. Maybe next season.

But yeah, when we do Select, he'll be doing both Select and house....more ice time, and more practice. He gets better and better each week (with a few minor exceptions some days), and you don't do that unless you are on the ice! I'm trying to talk my husband into fake ice for the side yard....no luck yet. Might have to sell something to get that going, like a kidney or something.
