Very interesting--thanks Blake!

With the split between bloggers and moderators, both blogs are becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Want proof? Except for Cohn's "live blog" last night, count the responses to the threads on both "Tailing the Komets" and "Ice Chips" during the last four or five threads on each. A pretty meager response total for each.

Fort Wayne Newspapers, I fear, will not continue their time, space, effort, and expense to support one or both of them in their present state.

One guy holds the key. Is he gonna use that key to help unlock the door that is holding his "old" regulars back?

Nice "behind-the-scenes" piece, Blake. I especially liked the rows of team photos from over the years. It would probably take me a while to notice that. I should look up more. I still say it's lacking without a team logo on the floor, but they don't exactly have a lot of space to walk around it, now do they?

Should be interesting to see how the game tonight goes. It's still early in the season, but both teams need this one to avoid falling too far behind the pack. Being the third game in three nights for both teams should put the emphasis on some of the younger legs out there, but we'll see how it goes.

Curious Alan, do you think the "quality" of the posts is better? One thing I've noticed is the constant repeating of rumors seems to be down a bit too, but there have been few games to talk about. Let's see if it picks up after this current run.

Also, I think Fort Wayne Newspapers has nothing to do with the blogs, they are maintained by the separate newspapers themselves. Remember, the two are separate entities with separate owners and the News Sentinel did choose to shut down this blog a few years ago because of the language that was being used IIRC.

The number of comments has dropped, but the number of people looking at the site has gone up. There's also been an increased variety of posters.

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to see it, did it really fall?

Bloggers battle -- This too shall pass. Just a minor speed bump in the road. Won't affect anyone's destiny. It is just a matter of time before somebody gets their shorts in a knot over on the other side of the fence. It has happened in the past. For now, I am just enjoying the hockey discussions minus the "slinging."

What an insightful comment, Mr. Puckmeister. Good to see a new face, or rather screen name here. Interesting time to join. Lol.

Can't charge much for internet advertising if the hits aren't up. Will the hits increase since we lost 2 of 3 and everyone is looking to see if we are going Henley on each other.

If a Monkey eats a banana in the woods and no one is there to see it, did he really eat it?

Ok time to give some credit, I had the pulled yardbird at the coliseum, it was good and I didn't get sick! All their food except the popcorn and hot dogs made me sick, really sick, so that's the first thing I have had in 2.5 seasons that didn't make me ill. Schebigs food hasn't even made me sick.

I have to get to Evansville this year.

JM, don't read too much into the change. Was never one of the "big boys."

Hello Steve.

I'm not sure if the "quality" of comments are better or not. It would depend on the individual. I never was one who felt that "rumors" were a bad thing. Many times those who have posted "rumors" were later found to be correct. My thinking is that a rumor that is posted with intentions of trying to supply readers with "inside" information was a spark for more conversation. Remember, as I have posted before, a comment shouldn't be edited or erased as long as the person posting has commented in a respectful manner.

Steve, maybe the "Journal" and the "News" have separate owners now. I mentioned "Fort Wayne Newspapers" in my post because, as a subscriber to both papers, you receive separate billing. However, for both newspapers you are instructed to make your check payable to "Fort Wayne Newspapers".

I hope Mr. Puckmeister is correct regarding what he calls the "bloggers battle". Yes, I do remember the exodus from "Ice chips" a few years ago. The funny thing is that I don't see any change in that blog from that time. To me, this "battle" or whatever you would call it, has a lot less to do with the quality or the content of that blog and more to do with a "I'm not playing here anymore" attitude. I just don't like waste, and I look at this situation as just plain wasteful.

Blake, thanks for your response. It was a lot more tactful than the response I received on "Ice Chips". He called me silly, and that my comment could have been the "silliest' of the week. He probably was correct as it would have been easy to check. I mean, except for the running blog, the site only had about twenty comments for the week.

Somebody help me and give me the definition for a blog.

Wendy, it was nice to hear from you again.
