Interesting in the video when asked about vets being cut if they don't play well in camp.... Al mentions Leo and Brandon by name as guys "playing to make the team". Guess PC is locked in.

You'll probably be yelling for the toughness later after a couple of our finesse players are laying in a heap.

Mightbite asked a very good question.
It's kind of interesting that Frodawg, a Rapid City fan who visits this site ( and is more than welcome to), would criticize a regular Komets blogger on his statements regarding the team.

How much true evaluation can really be done in a span of about 4 to 5 days at the most? Honestly that is a short amount of time to really get a feel for what you have got and only having two Exhibition games. I could see all the core guys making this hockey club out because they know the systems. I am with MB, on paper I really question the toughness factor of this hockey club, but I do like the addition of Jesse but hated to part ways with Cescon he was a tough D-man that cleared the front of the net

Do not like those new jersey's... I have never been a fan of the Spacman logo...
This stinks... I really wanted to buy a 60th anniversary jersey...

Guess we are all used to MB's one-track mind with reference to an enforcer. Doesn't bother me, but it does kinda wear on a guy. Oh well, I am not into cage fighting either. To each his own. Frowdawg, did you have a good summer?

Agreed, JR1. The Spaceman looks like a 4th grader drew it while he/she was bored in class.

JR, I've heard there's going to be another new jersey (I'm guessing it'll be the road jersey) that will be orange with KOMETS diagonally

The new jerseys aren't too bad. I think they could have made Kaptain Komet a tad smaller though. He takes up too much space. Get it: space. Ok bad one but I somewhat agree with MB about toughness on this team. Does anybody remember the end of the Wichita game last year? We had nobody on ice to take on their goons. And poor Danko was double teamed. I hope everyone is right and maybe some of the younger guys can step up and do some enforcing when needed.

In my worthless opinion, toughness is a good thing in a hockey player. They can't play if they are laying on the ice after a hit or two or crying on the bench with boo-boos.

Ok, I will not say anything more about "toughness"= until A-Pod or another Komets player or players is "gooned up".
As of now who can handle the Sgroi,Goulet,Lizon etc. ?????

I agree with Mightbite too. However, seeing the increased size of the team weight isnt always the tall tell of toughness. I think a few of these younger guys will fill the void. Our age on defense is much improved as no one is over 30. Doesnt mean skill is there but we all should have a good vibe with this team. We may not have 1 "henley" out there but a good handfull will be baby-sitters. Youll see them come out of the new guys, trust me.

Another throw in. Everyone expects a team stacked like 2011 Eagles to win. How are they fairing right now? Our team is younger and hungrier or needs to prove themselves. Several no namers out there who do deserve the ??? right now. Im with most of you on that topic but I like our vibe and bought my internet subscription today. 12days.
