Last week Bruce Boudreau's Washington Capitals beat John Anderson's Atlanta Thrashers. Before this season, when was the last time a pair of former Komets PLAYERS faced off as NHL head coaches?

Torch and Sims?
Or Tortorella and Sims?
Never mind, it was just pointed out to me that they were both players.
John Ferguson played for the Komets in 1959-60 season, and Marc Bolieau played for the Komets in the early 1970s then coached the Komets.
In the 1975-76 season Marc Bolieau coached the Pittsburgh Penguins and John Ferguson coached the New York Rangers.
You are partially correct, but not totally. There was also another NHL coach that year.
It was kind of a trick question. Everybody always forgets Tom McVie who coached Washington and played for the Komets in 1971-72. I'm not pretending to be some Komets genius here, either, because I had to check with Bob Chase and Ken Ullyot today to get this one.
LOL, way before my time!
yeah...I saw McVie's name..but didn't know he played for the Komets....
Are you saying I'm old, Charlie???????
Good stuff Blake.
LOL, well Blake if the shoe fits..... Just Kidding with ya.
I was born in 81, and my dad took me to my first game sometime that winter. I should ask him the question, I bet he would know the answer. He loves Komet trivia.
Thanks for the laugh.
Why I oughta take you out back, you young whippersnapper!
Thats if you can catch me!
