I got a chance to meet Billy Welker a couple of years ago when he came into Komet Kuarters. Stand up guy. We had alot to talk about. he's one of the good stories that came out of that era of Komet hockey

So, Mr. Franke says that this is the roster going into the playoff and there will be no changes...yet in the next breath he says that they are looking at a couple of amateurs to fill the spots allowed by the league. Makes perfect sense!!

I love the Komets and have for over 20 years and will continue to do so...and the Frankes have done a wonderful and fantastic job saving the team from sure death and going on to win 5 championships since 1993...but I'm really, really getting tired of Dave's 'say-one-thing-and-do-another' mentality. You just get to the point where you can't believe and/or trust him or what he says.

I'm sure I'll take flak for expressing my opinion...but it is what it is.

Harbz...I think you might just be a little hard on David. He said the Komets are going with the team as it is set. That on it's face is correct. The league allows for two amateurs to be added. They are looking at that. They may add them without cutting or dropping any of the current roster. That is not double talk at all. If they can find two that fit the mold and they can get a good look at them for next season more power to them. I think they would be foolish not to do that. It sure isn't double talk it is just good business.

Blake, I have a quick question for you. A couple of days ago Rapid City was assigned an AHL player named Kevin Hardy. The team that assigned him to Rapid City was Springfield. Why is Springfield assigning anyone to a CHL team other than Fort Wayne? Is Hardy property of Columbus? Did he have a CHL contract with Rapid City already in existence? Did the Komets have a chance on him and passed on it?

The more I think about this "affiliation", the more I dislike it. ( Except, of course, if it puts Fort Wayne in line for the AHL as the Columbus afilliation in the next two years or so).

Maybe someone in the front office can explain why our AHL affiliated team is helping the competition by placing players in other locations.

Mistake on the last name. I think it was Kevin "Harvey". Still the important questions remain the same regardless of the player.

Kevin Harvey was in camp with Springfield, they cut him and he went to Rapid City at the start of this season. Springfield then called him up in mid January. They have now sent him back down to Rapid City, the team he was signed with at the beginning of the season.

Alan, I believe Harvey was already playing for Rapid City when he was called up. I believe he was called up at the same time Ratchuk was about a month ago.

Dschebig...I understand what you're saying. I know that perhaps they are looking at guys for next season...which is absolutely great because I think the K's kind of got surprised this season in terms of the quality of the league. They need to be looking at some new guys. I guess the way I read it was that "by golly, these are the guys we are going the distance with, sink or swim, period" and then turn around and in my mind, kind of contradict himself. I absolutely agree that the K's would be foolish not to be looking at guys and that it's good business. I hope that they are able to find a Hodgman-type player or two.
