Hey, I plan Powerball each week....wouldn't you all crap yourselves if a redheaded hockey chick like me bought the team? :) Which one of ya would apply first to get in on the management team? Jungle Monkey, you are already hired. You were hired about a year ago. Stay long enough and behave, and you know your Christmas bonus in the year 2020 or so will be NHL tickets....that and some beer. I hope that works for ya...

Not an IHL fan, are you for real? You are looking for an NHL franchise to come in and run a team. Dream on. And oh by the way the current team owners are not honest and they obviously don't care about the fans because they just won three championships in a row. And since by your handle you are not a fan, you are not stuck with anything.

If you're an equal opportunity employer, I want Wade Weaver's job. :D

I can not think of Wade as a "red headed hockey chick"

You could hire Ben Smith. Than you would have a "red headed hockey stud" they could be book-ends.

Mike: Those three championships in a row in the low talent ihl means about the same as 3 wildcat baseball championships. A league with only 6-7 teams, and you average 7000 fans a game when everybody else averages about 1500 a game meaning you can pay for the better players. It's not to hard to win 3 championships in a row. And the current owners are not honost. They just raised ticket prices this year to $21 for their top tickets. That is close to if not more then ECHL and AHL top tickets for cities close to the same size as Fort Wayne. The frankes are corporate fatcats. IMO.

Ok... this is one of several times you have accused the Komets owners of not being "honOst"...
Spell out specifics since you are making the claim/statement.
What exactly have they or are they doing that is dishonOst?
Facts please.

I'll say it again. The main thing is they are ripping off the fans. They are charging triple A prices and puting single A hockey on the ice. That is blatantly dishonost. You can get great seats at a near by AHL or ECHL game for $21 or less. Do the research if you don't believe me.

MR SNUFFLUPUGUS

Ok...
I sell a product.... If I charge $20 for it and people line up to buy it, how does that make me dishonOst?
Is hockey like bottled water after an earthquake where people pay anything in a panic? Those sellers charging $10 a gallon for gas after Katrina and the same price for a bottle of water or loaf of bread were indeed dishonOst.
Last time I checked you can get a very nice seat at a Komets game for under $20? The Komets do not own the building and have to sell a certain number of seats at a certain price in order to pay the rent each night.
The main point is, people are more than happy to pay the ticket prices. This is a recreational activity and you are correct, you do have choices. Nobody is forcing you to buy Komets tickets or be a fan of the team.
But to call the Komet owners dishonOst for selling tickets at price points that the market will clearly bear is well...........we can all see your agenda.
You said in an earlier post that an honOst owner can be found.... again...who?

I want to spend $75 a seat to see the 2011 Stanley Cup Champion Flyers play :) YES I SAID IT 1ST :)

Bob

Mightbite,

I just looked at single game ticket prices for the Flyers. The prices range from $20 for a seat in the Family Section...very top row of arena, to $225 for a seat at ice level.

There were tickets for $46, $53, $96, depending on section.

To those complaining about paying $21 for a K's game...that is what the area market is willing to pay. It's simple economics. That is the point where supply and demand meet.

Anybody that over charges for their product is dishonost. It's called not being ethical. Greed is so imbeded in our society the a lot of people can justify it in the own minds. We see t all over the place. I should set up a lemonade stand outside the coliseum doors and sell it for $10 a glass. I'd probably make good money, but I would not do it because I am an ethical person. The economy being as poor as it is finding someone to spend a few million for an AHL or ECHL franchise might be tough. If I had it I would do it.
And the last I heard if the frankes have an game nite attendance of I think somewhere around 4000 than they don't pay rent.

Bob, when I go see the Flyers I sit in section 113 center ice -10 row great seats $75 & I get to see Riley Cote :)

Blueline Baby

Not an ihl fan....overcharging in YOUR opinion. I get what I am paying for, in my opinion. I'm perfectly fine with the prices. And yes, I've been to plenty of games in the other leagues....ECHL, AHL, and the NHL....mostly lower arena in the E and A arenas, upper cheap seats in the NHL arenas.

And yes, greed is rampant....but like Mr S pointed out, this is not at all a necessity for anyone. If someone is overcharging for necessities, that is where I draw the line. I don't NEED to go see a hockey game (well, I THINK I do, but in reality, I don't).

If you really want a good deal? Go to see a HS hockey game. I think we saw them for about $2 at Canlan. Young talent, you know that they are gonna make some mistakes, but they are full of speed, they like to hit, even might do some pushing and shoving (no fights allowed, sorry mightbite)....and in this rough economy, hey that's pretty cheap. You might even see an upcoming NHL'er. And it's...not the ihl. ;)

How much do you think is a fair price for a Komets ticket?

Thu, 07/29/2010 - 10:23pm

Not you might find this interesting and a comparison to the Komets from the standpoint of arena size, average attendance in relation to building capacity championships etc.

Ticket prices for the back2back OHL/C(anadian)HL champion Windsor Spitfires.
Notice the cost of the LOWEST priced ticket in comparison to the Komets

You can not continue to coddle (not an iHL fan) you can help the dumb you can not fix stupid. He is what he is. Full of hate. Those kind of people are just not worth the effort. I have never figured out how people go through life full of hate. They just must be miserable all the time. I guess there is room for that kind of stuff on here all so.

snuf: You can't compare Windsor to Fort Wayne. It is much bigger city and it is next door to Detroit. The average income is a lot higher there then it is here which is why the high ticket prices. And Dschebig: I don't hate anybody, I just know corporate fatcats when I see them and I refuse to pad their pockets.
