Snuff, you are wrong for giving a rats behind what Not a IHL is arguing with you about.

Just ignore and let him go away.

Stop feeding the stray trolls.

No offense Not-a-IHL.....but just drop this stupid argument. No one cares.

Either enjoy the hockey we have, or don't, you have the choice.

I choose to enjoy it.

Hit...
Get ready everyone for this....

The facts you just presented are 100% correct and I am wrong. I agree with you.
Sometimes I just need to learn when to shut up....as Blake and my wife have told me more than a few times ;)

To Not an ihl fan: You posted a little earlier a question for me and this is the first chance I've had to reply.

I sit in Section 208, it is called the "Pepsi Zone". I love these seats as I am on an aisle, sit very close to some beer, sit very close to a mensroom, sit very, very close to the exit steps, sit at the end where the Komets shoot twice, and am lucky to have wonderful people who sit around me. These tickets cost $425.00 each. I have four tickets. So, simple math would make a game cost $10.12 a piece.

My problem was that a price increase had been announced and fewer games were on the schedule. Plus it seemed real hard to get verification of any facts earlier even though the ST deadline was approaching. It turns out that there are more games this year, as last years' schedule called for 2 exhibition games and 38 regular season games.

Lets say that there is only one preseason game, 36 games at the Coliseum, and the four free playoff games. The price per ticket would be $10.37.

I have great sight lines from my seats and have had a lot of friends tell me if I ever gave them up that they would grab them. (Even a few ex-Komets I know have sat there and remarked how much better they liked them because of how you can see the "play" develop). I have been a Komet fan for years and have had sat everywhere, even rinkside, and I would take my seats, today, over any of them.

Those are the facts.

Did I just get compared to Hit Somebody!!!

Steve, I still think my opening night idea has some merit (check post #2 above). Thanks for your input. I never meant that the players should have a group hug or share spit in the showers, only that a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity presented itself and should be acknowledged.

Blake needs more of a life if he's checking the times I post and Hit posts.

Maybe he's going through another "Lake Effect" moment.

I wasn't trying to me mean.

I was just saying.....you are wasting your time arguing something you can't win with this blogger.

Sorry.

But I am glad you understand.

Hit and Snuff and Alan are 3 of the better posters here of quite a few...to many to mention. I agree i am now going to put away my weapon in this pissing match with u know who. Maybe i could challenge him to a game of foosball.....loser leaves this blog. I know who to bet on!

Yes Alan, I still think it is a good idea too. Do something with it OK?

Hit I didn't think you were being mean. No worries.

Alan, (or anyone else)
The season tickets cover first round of playoffs...
So what happens IF IF IF IF IF IF the Komets were not to make the playoffs (and spare me for the moment how just about everyone does lol)

Alan,

I'm in Section 206 on the aisle by 204....That area is an excellent view of the game action. The nearby restrooms and main concession stand is like 30 seconds away.....

Okay, so memory doesn't serve. I guess we can't believe anything else you think you remember, either. See my point? Making a statement like that undermines all credibility.

Dennis: Just saying that you aren't partial. You have no higher regard for red-headed hockey chicks than you do for any other hockey chick or hockey stud, as it were. And no, you didn't call anyone stupid specifically. But it was implied. C'mon. You know that's what you were thinking. Eh, you know what? It doesn't matter. Stupid is as stupid does.

My dad has a rabbit. He's a magician. My dad, not the rabbit. I've bought it treats, but no I haven't baked any for it myself. I'm sure there are recipes, though. If I ever do, I'll be sure to mention it. I'm just more of a dog person. I am a dog, as a matter of fact (Chinese astrology).

MR SNUFFLUPUGUS

Lol Wendy my rabbits are magicians! They can eat lettuce at a rate like I have never seen.
What about cat treats?
I grew up with dogs but don't have one now. I am not sure how a dog would get along with all of the fuzzballz running around here.

T.H. I've done the research on AHL and ECHL ticket prices. The komets prices are very close to those teams in simliar size cities. With exception of the very first row next to the glass. You can only compare prices with cites that are close to the same size as fort wayne. Take the Peoria Riverman in the AHL for example. A little bigger than fort wayne but ticket prices are very close. Komets $21, Peoria $22.50. See, very close.

Alan: I have also sat all around the coliseum for komet games and I agree that the pepsi zone is one of the best places to sit. $10.37 per ticket is a pretty good deal. but I feel they should let fans pay for them over a longer period of time then what they currently do. They might sell more.

Snuf you would make a good politician. Anybody that disagrees with your ideas you berate them and insinuate that they are stupid. Let me guess, you're a democrat.

The season is getting closer. The Ks fans are uniting against the non-fans instead of fighting amongst ourselves as much.

Snuff: Excellent job of setting the bait to move from fuzzy bunnies to fuzzy kitties. THAT will get some comments when the time comes... Well, maybe not from Schebig. Ahahaha

Mr. Snufflupugus,

We have two dogs (Black Lab and Alaskan Eskimo) and a cat (Tuxedo Cat)....everyone gets along just fine.

The Alaskan Eskimo we got a few months ago, the Lab has been with us for almost 8 years (turns 14 Sunday), the cat about 9.

Shirts and skins!

Cats... [shudder]. Some of my best friends are cat people, and I... well, I respect the right of cats to exist. Across the room. Besides, dogs have a sweet tooth. Cats don't. If I made treats for them, I wouldn't be able to lick the honey off my fingers.

Wendy
Sat, 07/31/2010 - 5:20pm

And since we're getting political again, I was looking through some T-shirts at a stand once and found one that read, "Vote your concience. Oh wait, republicans don't have a concience." I laughed and kept browsing. a few minutes later, I found a shirt that read, "Vote your concience. Oh wait, democrats don't have a concience." That's when it hit me. Isn't it interesting that people on both sides of the political aisle have reason to question the other side's morality?

Wendy,

Well said....it's a sad commentary on current affairs, but the reality that we live in...:(

As you know, a cat does reside here, but I have always been a dog person since I was 3 years old. :)

Wendy/Bob...lol I married a very very sweet Democrat who shakes her head everytime I explain to her why Ronald Reagan was one step below God.
So once again accuracy isn't Nots strong suit but it's ok.
If you look at the postings as simple entertainment, they serve a purpose.
My cats eat grapes but other than that, nothing too sweet. Rabbits LOVE sweet yogurt flavored stuff as well as most fruit so bake away!

Wendy--I have a box of chocolates! Your beginning to sound like my wife. She thinks she knows what I am or was thinking. I would hate to tell you just how often she is wrong. She works for me so that doesn't help her average at all.

I have the worst seat in the building. (Wendy knows it) Just have to grin and bare it. I have only had it for 37 years. Before they raised the roof and re-numbered all of the sections I sat in section 4 from 1962/63 season.

I know this much for sure let the season begin!

I don't know, DSchebig....I'm really enjoying my scorekeeping seat at Canlan...of course, mine is unpaid, and the refs are just learning in most cases....wait, maybe we are more alike than I originally thought....hmmm....LOL!

Alan, I am SO showing my husband your post. $10 per ticket pretty much makes that section worth it. That is a great deal, to me, anyway. Thanks for being that open about what you paid and where you sit. Seeing as how I am terrible at math, I probably might not have figured that all out accurately. OK, no "probably" about that. It's too late for this year, but there's always next year!

MR SNUFFLUPUGUS

On the few occasions we get comp tickets through our sponsorship, we always request upper deck seats.
The only downside up there is you do get some excessive drinkers who can tend to use language that I would find offensive if I had a child with me. On the other hand, they aren't mean/angry and it is fun to sit with a rowdy group instead of some of the more low key "old timers"...you know the ones found reading and crocheting before games lol

Wendy

Dennis: Okay, have it your way! LOL. Yeah, you do feel surprisingly detached from the game where you sit. Must be because you're boxed in. Still, you can't have the experience of someone slamming into the boards in front of you and knocking your pop can off your table when you're sitting in the stands. Good thing I hadn't opened it yet, eh?

Wait a sec... Did you say chocolate? :P

Dogs can't have red grapes or raisins. Some dogs will keel over after just one, so if I accidentally drop one, I'm diving for it like a slow motion scene in an action movie. "NOOOOoooooooooooooooooo!"

I just finished baking a bunch of stuff for Blake the birthday dog, so that's all the baking I'm doing for a while. But I'll certainly consider it. :)

BLB, yes Steelers. I have a Lambert & Greene & Polamalu jerseys each in white & black :) / Can you guys settle your talk in the "cage" or with a 24oz beers :) / I try to keep my "sweet dog" away from everything including bunnies & most people :) / If we hit 200 posts on this Blake wins a trip to the Bahamas :)

Wendy- I was referring to "Forest Gump" "Life is like a box of chocolates" and "Stupid is as stupid does" I would never give my dog chocolates. Now that would be, in my case, really stupid!

mightbite-If we can get 200 posts who is going to fill in for "Superfan"? He would get lost in the Bahamas. He could fall in love and we might not get him back!

Burgee--Smoooooooch! If I don't put that in here his feelings get hurt. That requires more pills for his depression.

To Tim Hoke: Hey Tim, thanks for the kind words regarding my posts. I try to use facts and logic when posting. I enjoy reading your posts as you have contacts that I don't and I learn from these. There are many, many, good posters who use this blog and I enjoy each and every one of them.

Steve: Thanks for reiterating your support of my opening night idea. I think Monday I will call the K's office to find out who I need to contact and pass it along.

Snuff: To answer your question regarding the playoff tickets if the games are not played; I bet the K's would credit the next years season ticket package the same way they always have. Also, it's been my experience that there are "rowdies" pretty much everywhere.

Hey Bob: Since you sit in 206 on the aisle by 204 you know exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for backing me up on the view, etc.

Not an ihl fan: I'm glad you agree that $10.37 is a pretty good deal. The July 30th deadline really isn't an issue with me as you have plenty of time after you place the $100 deposit to hold the tickets. (That occurs sometime during the playoffs). My only problem with the deadline was that for this season, very little information was released in terms of number of games played, vet limit, salary cap, etcetera. It was hard to judge "value", so to speak, without having that information. By admitting that $10.37 is a pretty good deal you may be changing your mind a little. That would be a good thing.

Hey Blueline Baby, thanks for your post. I have a suggestion for you and your husband. Sometime next season during the first period of a game, come over to 208 and watch the period with us. Doing that will allow you to experience the "sight lines" and also you will be sitting at the end where the K's shoot twice. If you enjoy it, well then you can make a more informed and intelligent decision whether or not you'd consider switching seats.
