Since pets are part of the topic I'll mention mine. I have my own red headed hockey chick for a pet. Really!

She is a female Eclectus parrot. If you've never seen an Eclectus (odds are you haven't, they're rare) the females are very colorful and have red heads.

Alan--You need to talk to Scott Sproat. He would be the man!

I might point out there are more than enough crazy's to go around. Some of them set right behind me and beat on as well as kick the class. In our little space that noise can drive you dingy. As if I need any help!

Mr S, I'm not proud of it, but my son has certainly heard me swear like a sailor before. Thankfully, he is a really good kid and does not repeat it. Actually we had a guy (who was drinking a lot) cussing and swearing at K's game once, he noticed Jason there, and each time he let those words fly, he'd turn and apologize to me. Finally my sweet then-8 year old son told him, "Mister, it's ok....my mom says those words all the time!" How embarrassing is that?! LOL....

Alan, that sounds good. It would be nice to meet you as well. :)

From the mouths of babes, huh? Thats funny Blueline Baby. Life has a way of turning on us sometimes, doesn't it?

When you and your husband decide you'd like to come over to 208 to watch a period, just put it on the blog and I'll let you know my seats and watch for you. It would be nice to meet your family as well.

Schebig: Oh. Thought you meant you had some chocolate you wanted to give me (joking of course). I should have gotten that. Shame on me.

Steve: Interesting bird. Never seen one like that before. By the way, at some point (no, not sure how soon at this point), I expect to have a copy of the mythical "lost episode" to give away. That's the one with "Mike in Toronto" and Robbie Laird being interviewed, plus MacMillan as guest commentator. You can have it if you are interested. If you are, I'll have to get back to you regarding when I can give it to you.

I think Burgee is going to the "Dogs" I would have paid good money to see him tubing. I didn't know they made life jackets that big.

The door is open, my comment could go in such the wrong direction right now. Wendy and Schebig should probably talk in private!

got a schedule, got some players and almost less than 2 months until the preseason puck drops, i'm ready

Steve and Dschebig, I called the Komets office this morning.

Scott Sproat was not in but I left a message on his voice mail regarding my opening night idea. On the message I gave him my name and cell phone number so he knows it wasn't a crank call. If he chooses to call me and talk a little further I would welcome it, but at least I have followed through. That's all one can do.

We'll see what happens.

Alan, good, let's hope something comes from it.

Wendy, yes, they are unusual birds. We don't know a whole lot about her, she came from a friend of my wife who rescued her.

She's been with us since September and has bonded very well with me. Decent sized vocabulary and it is clean (no swearing, at least yet :-) ). She gets along OK with my wife as long as she doesn't put her hand in her cage. Out of the cage she is fine with her but she is very protective of her "nest" when it comes to other females. But that's the way Eclectus are in the wild also, females fight for territory and nesting areas. Imaging a jungle full of red headed hockey chicks..... :-)

I would love to see the Lost Episode. Keep us posted.

Thanks, Steve. We'll see what happens. If I don't hear anything in a day or two I may repeat it on the "fans ideas" section on the Komets web site.

You're right, Steve, when you posted that the K's had signed DeAngelis.

Great signing as he's a good, young defenseman, fits well under the CHL "developmental player" listing, and I can't remember a Komets team having signed this many fine defensemen this early before.

LOL....no, Jungle Monkey....it was most definitely not you. I'd remember that. It was another guy, and he was so embarrassed to have said those things around such an "impressionable young mother and her child". OMG, how little he knew....LOL....it was all good. I honestly don't believe in shielding the kid from that sort of thing. He hears it at school. Although I did almost get my butt kicked at a restaurant once for (very politely)asking a man to not swear like that in from on a restaurant full of kids. He kept dropping the f-bomb, and was getting seriously dangerous in most people's opinions. So I politely asked him if he would not use that sort of language in from of the kids. Wow, did that not go well.....thank God for 2 large college students who approached him as he approached me. I think that the meal my son ate left him at that very moment....I was ready for the dude, but the students were not gonna let that happen. Probably a good thing, in a restaurant full of kids! Sheesh!! I learned my lesson....now I just keep my mouth shut and tell the manager to kick him out, or call the local authorities that he is causing a disturbance. Screw that.....not gonna upset my son like that again, especially right before a hockey game! :) Not worth it!

And Frankie D....yay!!

Mon, 08/02/2010 - 9:59pm

That is such a coincidence, I left a message for
Sproat, too, on my opening night ideas. I hope he calls me back and goes with my plan.

Welcome to the Jungle, now take your IHL under the CHL beatdown!!!!!

Don't get me started.

Call me Scott....or text me.

Love,

Hit Somebody!!!

PS....If Brandon Warner does not get signed, we can let Frankie play the drums this season.
