Tailing the Komets

Two more added to camp roster

Third-year pros Toby Lafrance (C) and Vincent Zaore-Vanie (D) are expected to arrive in time for the start of camp Monday.

Lafrance, 22, has skated the past two seasons in the ECHL.  He appeared in 31 games last year with Johnstown scoring six goals and 16 points.  Lafrance maintains rookie status in the IHL as he has appeared in exactly 60 games as a pro thru last season.

Zaore-Vanie, 23, registered five assists and six points in 42 games last season with the CHL's Laredo Bucks.

Always try to find skill. Who knows how these players will do but I think for Al Sims and David Franke to bring them in says something. (unless they just want to send them to Evansville.) Blake, I know you reported that Whitehead will remain in Norfolks' camp through the weekend. I'm wondering what the chances of him coming back here really are? Do you have any guess? Also what is the scoop on Varone's rib injury? The story read that the Komets were hoping it was a "minor injury." Can you give us an update or even an educated guess? Thanks in advance.

Nice pick-ups!!! I am sad about Mitch. Hope we find at least one more guy willing to drop the mitts. It will be needed this season for sure. Say what you want about it, but it is true.

Rookie status is always good. I know we were all counting rookies recently, or at least we were until Sims was signed.
