I saw that earlier. We'll have to see if the Komets have any interest or if they can squeeze him under the cap.

What you are seeing in Kalamawho is what happens when you have affiliations with parent clubs. They send guys down and you have to take them. That means very good players must be let go that the team (like Kazoo) have signed. After they are released. It than becomes a numbers game. Sean knew this could happen. He took that risk because he wanted to be seen by NHL scouts and deservedly so. I know of no one that wished him anything but the very best. I point this out to those who think we should become part an affilation with the NHL/AHL. There are advantages to being an independent team.

If the Komets don't have interest in Sean O'Conner than there is something really, really wrong. If they presently do not have room underneath the salary cap than I would do whatever is necessary to make room. Sean O'Conner is a known quantity- at least a 20 goal scorer, knows the systems, is in game shape, played on defense when the Komets were pressed for defensemen last year, not a veteran, good quick skater, and knows what it takes to win. During the season there are times when the General Manager really earns his money. This is one of those times. Don't let him go to another ECHL, CHL, or European team. Bring him back to Fort Wayne NOW.

@Dschebig -

Your facts are wrong, the O'Connor move had nothing to do with an affiliation whatsoever.

Kalamazoo released O'Connor to make room for McGuirk. McGuirk is not NHL property -- he was already Wings property in camp but happened to be good enough to stick it out an extra long amount of time with Providence of the AHL on tryout in camp. Providence is not Worcester or Adirondack (the Wings' two AHL affiliates). McGuirk was Columbus property until this year, I believe, and played last year in Syracuse. The move had nothing to do with affiliation.

If you want to rant on something, at least know the facts next time.

Does it really matter how OC got released? All that matters is the Komets front office needs to crunch some numbers to bring him back to the black and orange. lol

Hi everyone. First, if O'Connor is available, please get him back into a K's jersey. He is someone who could be an asset to the team. Second, I don't know why O'Connor was released but he was. I think Dshebig brought up a good point in regards to a team having control over their roster. Even if O'Connor was not released due to an affliate of Kalamazoo's sending someone down, the liklihood of this occuring is greater with an affiliated team than with a team where there is no affliation. I'm sure we can all agree that when a parent club sends someone to you, you have to make room, and quality players will be let go. No matter what the reason or the situation, I am begging the ownerships and coaches to bring O'Connor back. Signing him would be absolutely fantastic for the team. Please do so immediately so we can see him in a K's jersey tomorrow night.

I said it before and I'll say it again - Bring back OC!!! Anyone who knows anything knows that OC is the kind of guy you want to build your team of the future on. OC is a star in the making. He's got experience, is a proven goal scorer and can be the spark that is possibly missing right now with this team. Please Mr. Franke, work your magic and get him back in orange and black. Rant over!

If OC is a tweener im sure the k"s will find a way to sign him.

I might be totally mistaken but I thought I read somewhere that OC was still a rookie because he was something like one game shy of the rookie limit? I'd look it up but I don't want to get busted at work...

BRING BACK OC!

I'm sure the Komets would love to sign O'Connor, and I would enjoy seeing him back as much as the next fan. But he does have something to say about it, too. If he wants to play in the ECHL or wherever, I hope he can find a team to pick him up there. I was a bit mystified by his being cut in the first place, but that's how it goes sometimes. Later in the season, they'll probably be bringing in players right and left to take the places of call-ups.

Here is Sean O'Connor's STATs. According to this he has only played 63 games as a pro. Unless the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) is a pro league. I don't think it is.

Nice to see that Primus follows the Komets and the IHL up in Kalamazoo still. Thanks for coming here and proving that you miss the Komets and the league. You are always welcome here. Best wishes to the K-Zoo fans and their ECHL experiment.

Sign OC now!!! He is the missing link on the Komets roster right now. We need his skill and his passion. He will look nice on our #1 line with Chaulk.

I can think of several guys that O'Connor can replace on this team and I wouldn't shed a tear.

DSchebig...you are cracking me up....now try to behave yourself, my friend!! Or don't....you're sitting in the penalty most games anyway, so why not misbehave?

BB-- I tried to be polite to Primis. The more I typed the more ticked off I became. So I bailed out for a few. I never want our leader to cut me off. That don't sound right. I should say shut me down. That's better.
