Tailing the Komets

UPDATE 10:45 p.m. Did anybody notice

The AHL suspended Billy Tibbetts for three games on Wednesday. A UHL official told me tonight he's already served one game in the AHL so he'll miss the first two games of this series.

Blake do not count on this suspension being served here in the UHL...His suspension is in the AHL and would have to be served there and since Chicago's year is over that suspension will be carried forward to next year. The AHL would not recognize Tibbetts sitting out 3 games in the UHL to be counted in the AHL..From what I understand and Rockford already aligning their ducks in a row to fight against that happening

This is from AHL site:

In addition, the American Hockey League has suspended Chicago Wolves right wing Billy Tibbetts for three (3) games as result of his actions during an AHL game on Apr. 14 vs. Milwaukee. Tibbetts, who has already served one game of the suspension, received a game misconduct under AHL Rule #76(a)(iii)

Mr. Brosal will need to impose something, especially since it involved Physical Abuse of an Official.

If he doesn't impose something and then the offending player does it in the UHL what does that say about the league? Yes the UHL takes all riff raff -- all goons and idiots welcome.?

I'll admit from time to time i yell at the officials but physically abusing one would never enter a normal persons mind.

If Rockford attempts to fight it, shame on that whole organization.

The UHL honors all AHL suspensions already, but I'm guessing this could get pretty ugly tomorrow.

They can honor all they want, but since the Wolves season is over to make him sit would mean he would techniqually miss a total of 4 games for his actions...2 games in UHL playoffs and 2 games in AHL at start of next season.

Martinson said in the paper that UHL by-laws does not say anything about honoring other league suspensions and they can not choose when to and when not to...Martinson said he would fight if the UHL makes Tibbett's sit. He wants him for one reason...Their plan will be to try to rough us up and pound on us...All I can say is our Power Play better be productive otherwise they will keep running us and take advantage of us...

I agree David, that's why I think it's going to get ugly. The only thing I know is that the last six or seven years the Komets have been in the UHL, all AHL suspensions have been honored.

Tibbetts and Domber will drop gloves on the first faceoff of the game.....and turtle.

I believe Rockford will try to intemidate us to the Nth degree..IMO with all the possible guys back from AHL recall and who they have, Rockford is as talented team in the UHL and toughest...Physically I am not sure we can even match up with them ecspecially if the series would go 7 games. I am not talking fight either, surprised? If it happens it happens but in the Playoff's it seldom does happen. We must be the most discipline team in this series and our PP must be productive!! Just look at these tough guys who also can score in a heart beat...

1. Big Snake 46 points and 400+ pims +10
2. Chaz Johnson 45 points and 238 pims +11
3. Billy Tibbetts...46+ points in UHL
4. Watson..don't laugh he had 16 goals and 12 assist and was a +15 while racking up 291 pims.

These guys are just their "Role Players" so to speak and we do not even match up with them. No question we are the underdog

It's old Hit. Really, really old.

My opinion is if he served the one game suspension in the AHL and 2 games in the UHL playoffs....he is then out of jail (no pun intended). The AHL website is only concerned about the AHL so they are probably not going to mention "if's and but's" of a recall somewhere else.

My question is are the Komets involved or sticking their nose into this or is this strictly a Rockford vs the UHL? Be kind of cool to add fuel to the fire if the K's front office was pushing the issue....and won.

Ok I thought that was funny of Hit and honestly since when can't he say what he feels. I for one don't think that Domber is that much of a tough guy. I've talked to him and he wouldn't scare me. There's plenty of Rockford players tougher than he is by far. Rockford isn't coming into this game lightly they'll be ready for him.

Blake,
What route did you take to get to Rockford? I am conflicting reports on the best way to get there because of all the construction.

Seems to be a rumour floating that the Komets have a surprise player in Rockford tonight ready to play? Anyone know anything about it? Could it be Mark Smith elgible to play or is Chaulk making an early return to surprise Rockford? What is it? Something to do with Frawley not making the trip maybe? Someone figure this out and fill me in....If it is anything more than a rumour that is....

If I remember right Mark Smith cant play for anybody for this season or next cause he skipped off to Europe to play...Hey Miller says that coach was a lil fiesty guy when he played, maybe he's gonna lace em up....lol

Oh God, here we go. Each team has to submit a playoff roster. If you're not on the roster you don't play. You can't just bring in surprise players. Unless the "surprise" is Chaulk magically got better, Campbell decided to change his mind again or Milam wants to play instead of study. Once again....Mark Smith will NOT play in the UHL this year or next.

Here's the roster

Bozoian AJ
Campbell Ed
Carpentier David
Chaulk Colin
Dombkiewicz Mike
Drouin P.C.
Dupuis Guy
Galbraith Lance
Goodwin Jonathon
Guinn Rob
Hukalo David
Jorde Ryan
Koning Jeremy
Kurk Kevin
Lindsay Mark
Luciuk Andrew
Milam Jamie
Miller Kelly
Neumeier Troy
Rumble Brent
St. Pierre Kevin
Tataryn Josh

Maybe the Komets will surprise all of you and be tough enough. Things have a funny way of turning when the crowd thinks there's no way it can happen

Maybe there is a loop hole since Campbell didn't want to sign. Maybe the Komets can add another waiver wire player. Who knows?

Joseph, I noticed you have Chaulk on your roster and no Frawley. Where did you get your info?

If the UHL recinded the K's waiver pick, why is there nothing on the U's website?? No conspiracy question or anything, was just wondering....

joseph

That roster came from the UHL site, so yeah the Campbell - Frawley thing is a little messed up. But, smith or Worlton or anyone else won't be added. Unless someone knows some rule I don't

Whoever plays, Komets win tonight 5-3
