USA-Canada predictions

Put 'em here.

I was big into Canada before I watched the last 10 minutes of tonight's game against Slovakia. Now I think the US will win 4-2 with a P.C. Drouin insurance goal.

You could be right. The Fans and the announcers had our team punched into the Gold Medal game much too early in the Third Period. Chants of we want USA and all. Almost didn't come to be. A lot of pressure. Only point to be made...they may have finally learned a lesson. I say Canada 5-2. Enjoy the game.

Canada did not look sharp on the skates all game, and Pavol Dimetra had two quality chances to tie the score in the final minute. But those Canucks kept hitting hard, and they held on for the win. That being said, I think they play a cleaner game against USA and win 5-3.

I agree with Blake for a change.

My money would have been on Canada, and still would be in a 7 game series, but Luongo looks human and Canada gets shaky when scored on.

I look for big games from Malone, Drury and Miller. Syd, for whatever reason, has been a non-factor (I was screaming from game one to put Staal on his line) and if Rafalski continues his streak it could take the crowd out of the game.

My hope is that we see the Canada that beat Russia against a USA team that beat Finland in an OT game for the ages. And PLEASE don't let it be decided in a shootout. (I'll save my shootout rant for another time.)

I want to see a clean, hard hitting game and one that will make both countries proud.

100% Rocky, no shootout. Decide it in 60 minutes and let the cards fall where they may.

USA wins 3-2! Ryan Miller comes up HUGE and we get goals from Rafalski, Pariase, and Kane gets the game winner with less then a minute to go in the game!!

I'm predicting the same score as Harley--USA 3, Canada 2. Have no clue on who or how it's going to get done--just know it will be a great game. Wonder who's having the Komet party tomorrow????

I was thinking the same thing...3-2 USA; but the US has to come out fast and get on the board early...

Will be really hard to beat canada twice! The pressure is on Canada though. Think Miller will be on and usa will win it but dont know the score. Guessing it will be low score maybe 4-3.

I'll stick with what I said after the first US-Canada game: Finland has a letdown (I was off a game as I thought it would happen Wednesday) and the US wins a silver. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see how the US beats Canada twice on their ice.

Who scores the first goal will make a huge difference. The US has never played from behind this entire series. If they get down early, this game could get ugly quickly.

Should be a great game regardless! Go USA!

I'll take the USA. Because I bleed Red/White & Blue. I'll say 4-2 with the last goal into the empty net. Others are right the US must score first. Miller should be the MVP of the games if there where that award.

++ Dennis.

Because of a previous commitment I won't be able to watch the game and I'm kind of bummed out about it although I do enjoy what I'll be doing. I'm going to count on my wife cheering them on for our family and keeping me updated via texts.

This is going to be a tough one. Hope if the US wins they take champagne, beer, and cigars onto the ice and say, "We're Americans, this is what we do!"

USA wins 4-1... we've got a hot goalie and a young energetic team. And I agree 100+% on the no-shootout thing. I won't go into my shootout rant either, some of you have already heard it anyways. :P

Shoot-Outs=Kissing your sister, I love my sister but a big wet sloppy one would get me a slap in the face and a punch in the nose from her husband. I agree with FMM & I have read his rant before. FMM (that is a complement):)

I don't see the US scoring 4 times on Luongo, sorry. Canada 4-1

How about Demitra having the game and a medal on his stick in the final seconds and missing wide? NBC never really did show a good replay of that. We needed to see it from out front.

Demitra played in the IHL withe the LasVegas Thunder

The USA has to hit like crazy (especially Canada's d-men), score first and early, and the PK specialists Burke put on the team (which was a stroke of genius, BTW) need to keep the potent Canadien PP from scoring... IMO

I would like to think that a balanced team will beat an all star team most nights....

I hate shoot outs also and it's not just because Al Gore invented them.

BTW, where's Burgee? Every thing OK?

Never mind the Burgee question, I see he has posted in a more recent thread....
