Rick Varone, a member of the International Hockey League all-rookie team last season with the Turner Cup champion Fort Wayne Komets, became a member of the Bloomington PrairieThunder, coach Jarrod Skalde announced Friday.
Varone was placed on waivers Thursday by the Komets and claimed by Flint. He was then traded to Bloomington for future considerations. He will wear No. 21 with the PrairieThunder and be in the lineup Friday when Bloomington meets Dayton in a 6:45 p.m. contest at Hara Arena.

Good Luck, Rick.
I'll hate to see him in Baby Blue, but I'll root for him to score a goal against us... of course, it'll be a meaningless goal in a 5-1 Komet win.
Let's hope he doesn't come back to haunt us.
Heck I was going to trade him to bloomy for Gomez
What is he, a hockey card? ;) I'm kidding...I'll see you upstairs tonight. If I can get the boy over there, we'll come to your seats. I think you're on the end the Komets shoot twice, right?
I know one Puck Bunny that will be changing jerseys.....
