Veterans Day

Today is a special to me in that it is Veterans Day. This day means everything to me as it  has a lot of history of past and present and future service members. But today is even more special to me knowing that we have a great community support. I would like to take today and say a BIG THANK YOU to some special people in Fort Wayne. These people are mostly behind the scenes but do more then anyone person is required to do for us.

I would like to say a Great Big Thank You to the whole Komet organization from the Franke's, to Scott, Rick, Josh and all the office staff, and I would never forget “THE BEST FANS IN MINOR LEAGUE SPORTS” without you most of the support would not happen.

Another Big Thank You goes to Blake Sebring. During and after my deployment to Afghanistan, Blake and I talked several times about the soldiers and the conditions over there and he took great interest in everything about our service members. This year will be my 5th year involved in Blake's Komet Kare program and I hope it will be as successful as always. Again from a local veteran to the Komets, Blake and The Komet Fans “THANK YOU” on this veterans day for all of your support in the past and in the future for all of our service members.

MSG Steven Kingsley

Thank you MSG Kingsley! I'm glad to hear the Komets Kare Package is back again this year. I have veterans in my family and my boyfriend is an Army vet so this is kinda important to me... :)

Yes, thank YOU Steve (and Mark, too), for all you do and have done. It was an honor to help promote Komet Kare last December, even if the actual broadcast came too late for the 2009 collection.

Just a reminder to everyone... The giving to the troops can and should continue before and after this Komet Kare program... You can go to the local recruiting office and get the proper mailing address for a unit overseas... The always need the basics for in those hot climates... Things that you think they should have they need. Get a list together and send out your own packages throughout the year.

Caring people did it for me, I did it for my cousins and thier unit overseas, and still do it when able. Pay it forward!

Thanks

Well said JR and thank you and all of our other brave men and women who have been, continue to be, and will be in our armed forces. Please remember that you don't need a holiday to show your appreciation to our service men and women.
