That wasn't this years Schrock :)

Hit Sombody!!!
Mon, 01/24/2011 - 12:08am

This pre-season AHL Schrock it was....well, 2010 pre-season.

I don't think Schrock is well right now.

I hope he gets healed up soon....we need that Schrock alot right now.

To watch Travis Granbois go out and take cheapshots on Lardner and Chaulk and refuse to fight when guys asked him to start the game the other night......it ticked me off royally.

I think a healthy Schrock might have pulled Granbois gloves and helmet off, and then beat him senseless.

Hit: hellkatshockey "new" it, as opposed to you, who
"knew" it... Moran. Hahaha

Blake: Better watch out, Wendy has been trying to out-stat you and write the angles while you're busy with gymnastics...

Well, at least neither the Jets or Patriots made it. Should be lots of Packers gear on display at the game on the 4th if tradition holds up.

I completely agree Hit, the way Schrock is playing I have a very hard time believing that he's healthy. Atleast I hope that's the problem with him and he's not on a leash

Instigator. Instigator. The dumbest rule of all. It allows guys to cheap shot and then bait a guy into going after them. All they have to do is turtle and the other guy gets 17 minutes. A huge reason why there aren't as many fights. Im not saying the Komets don't fight because of the instigator but there are tons of times you see two guys jawing and nothing happens because no one wants to be the first to drop the gloves. It's a ridiculous rule.

I stopped "making noise" for the Touchstone Energy meter the moment I realized it isn't attached to anything. I'm sure it won't be long before the MC sets up some of those new-fangled audience participation games that are genuinely interactive.

The meter isn't attached to anything? Gasp!

Count me out!

Mon, 01/24/2011 - 9:05am

Whaaaaat?! You mean to tell me that it's not real and simply a short video ran on the scoreboard? Get straight out of town! I never knew that...How long did it take you to figure that out?

JB
Mon, 01/24/2011 - 9:11am

Another gasp -- the meter isn't attached to anything? Next you will tell me there is no camera in the blimp. Don't even think about discussing the Tooth Fairy or Easter Bunny!

I have 3 autograped blimp camera's and 14 touchstone energy boards....

To use a Fort Wayne-famous quote: "You're all full of crap." What's next, Icy isn't a real bird, but rather two different guys taking turns in a costume depending on weather and who has to work the next day?? You'll probably try telling us all that's why one wears the black sock on his right foot and the other wears it on his left. Some of you just have to be Negative Nellies about EVERYTHING!!

In other news, the circus is coming to town!

Is there an over-under bet for some books on how many busses the Komets have to use on this weekend's road trip?

Icy is real! He lives at Glenbrook Dodge Hyundai....wait..why would someone live at a car lot and IF he did, how come I never saw him while I was looking for a car? SON OF A...

That's it, I'm just going to lock myself in a bedroom for the rest of the day...Such a sad and depressing day :(

GM, did you look on the roof? He might have a nest up there....

Bet it smells really bad. Watch out for falling Peanut M&Ms.

Yes Virginia, there is an Icy. As for the meter, the first time I saw it, I wasn't sure. The audience was pretty loud that night, and I knew that genuinely interactive features were possible with the right equipment. The second time... yeah, that's fake.

I thought we were only allowed to talk hockey on this blog? What league does this Cutler guy play for? Ditto the Bears?

Just kidding....

LMAO....been waiting for a couple of months to bust that one out on you guys.....I knew once the Superbore came around you would all break that rule!!!

RunningKomet
Mon, 01/24/2011 - 10:09pm

Maybe Cutler has some local ties... Didn't he play about 71% of that game before coming out with a sprain?? That sounds worthy of a trip to the Ks IR roster. There's room for all!

It's a bit sad when even former players are bashing you. Leaving the NFC championship game with a sprain?? I'll keep our quarterback over that any day.

Oh, wait, this is a hockey blog. Arent there some more goods Ks players are pawning off on here that we can get to??

How many of you have been professional athletes........Right, that's what I though. Those in glass houses..........A knee injury is a knee injury. If it's a tear then he shouldn't have played, and despite all the pundits, people are nitpicking about his demeanor on the bench......bottom line.

MR Snufflupugus

Who is the expert on knee injuries?

On the Glass
Tue, 01/25/2011 - 1:08am

NO bottom line.....cutler was sitting on his ass staying warm instead of helping his back-up(s)....listening to the plays & offering options/thoughts.....he showed that he DID NOT want to be the LEADER on that team....

The Colts HAD 2 hide A. Collie's helmet to stop him from trying 2 help his team, the Cubs just had to offer a warm coat & a seat 4 J Cut......

Wendy

Didn't see it, but I understand it was a sprain, not a tear. Obviously I'm in no position to judge, but I can't help but think about how Peyton Manning would have acted in his shoes. Even if he had been forced to sit, it would have been obvious to look at him that he was furious about it.

The Packers defensive game plan was darn near perfect against the Bears that day... Cutler/Marks couldnt figure it out for over a half of football, so why in the heck would you want him "coaching" up Hanie on the sidelines??? Ok, Hanie, this is how you go 6-13 for 80 yards.... Go get 'em tiger!

The only reason the Bears were able to make it a game late was because they ended throwing in a player that the Packers never game planned for...

Sprained MCL..... I had almost a complete tear of this same ligament and its no joke. I was able to walk off the field just like Cutler, walk around the sidelines, back to the locker room, get dressed and drive home. I had no side to side mobility however. When your a QB in the NFL, side to side motion is critical. If you cant side step an oncoming player your dead meat. If you have no side to side stability, you cant plant to throw. They absolutely did the right thing by removing Cutler.

BTW, the Bears lost because they were out coached. The defense made adjustments; but they were too late.

Drew Brees played 4 games with a torn ACL. I wouldn't call Brees a "warrior" the way I would Roethlisberger. A lot of guys at that level gut it out every week. Only Cutler knows if he could have went, but he wasn't helping his team when he was on the field. This is what happens when your attitude speaks more for you than your words. If this guy were a little more accomodating to fans, media, and fellow players he wouldn't be taking all the crap he is.

Andy Sherman = Jim McMahon, Jr.

Right, that's what I "though".

Alright, argue amongst yourselves. I didn't realize a simple joke would get everyone so riled. I have to get back to washing all these windows. Glass houses aren't all they're cracked up to be!

JR1
Tue, 01/25/2011 - 8:12am

LOL RK.......

I'm not trying to get into an arguement about injuries. We've all known people who can deal with them and people who cant. These knee injuries are all tears of one grade or another. They are the stretching of the ligament fibers until they start to sever or "tear". With mine, it took them over a week just to get the swelling down. Looked like a volleyball where my knee used to be...lol

Bottom line, as JM and I have mentioned, Cutler was ineffective and needed to be pulled whether injured or not.

RunningKomet
Tue, 01/25/2011 - 9:26am

I know, JR1. I was just pulling some people's legs (no pun intended). In all honesty, I don't want to see anyone, player or not, get hurt. With that being said, I do have to be honest in saying that I really showed no sympathy for Brady when he missed the season. Eh, nobody is perfect, right?

MR Snufflupugus
Tue, 01/25/2011 - 10:50am

RK you should have known this crowd and how easy it is to rile up. Poke the sleeping Icy and you get chaos lol.

Alas I am only crowned the goalie expert so knees are not my thing.
