Note to all the Franke's ( well, not all of them, Joe ).
The signing of Leo Thomas is very suspect at this time. Earlier in the signing year or process, ( whichever term you would like to use), I could understand it.
Not now.
Not when you didn't bother to even protect him. Not when you proclaim your penchant and desire to sign more scoring forwards. Not after advertising the fact that only 4-6 players from last year's roster would be back. Not after the lack of effort and leadership that Leo promised he would provide that came with the opportunity that the Chaulk "Italy" signing provided. Forgive me if I have heard this all before and I have my doubts.
I think Leo Thomas is a fine player, gifted skater, and a potential thirty goal scorer. The problem is I don't trust his effort and attitude anymore. Mr. Thomas, you go out and give me hustle, effort, and a caring attitude and I will be your fan forever. Trouble is that I can't trust it like I once may have, and that makes all the difference.
I don't know what to believe anymore. All the veterans spots are taken. No snipers have been signed as yet. ( Remember that I said "as yet". I have no idea who is next to be announced.) However, you had better put a couple of high scoring players on this roster. This team is in as good a position to afford any player as anyone else in this league. Your fans, patrons, and season ticket holders are hungry for it. Satisfy them.
Personally, I would have announced at least one sniper along with Leo Thomas as he will, and is, taking a lot of flack just because of the timing of his announced signing.
There is a hole in this roster. Fill it.
