Colorado up 6-1 now with about 5 minutes to play....

Maybe I missed this in one of the articles, but is Guy planning on staying in the Fort now that he's retired, or is he heading elsewhere?

Kaptain Komet is and always will be my favorite.

Too bad the "crest" wasn't a star (one of the first insignias) with Kaptain Komet, the old solo fireball with the "K" in its center, and the current fireball with the "Komets" written on it dispersed evenly among the points of the star.

I'll be happy when the CHL playoffs finally end. Lots and lots of rumors flying about and nothing will even start to be made clear until the season officially ends.

Looks like the Eagles are warming up to carry the Cup.. 8-1 is pretty serious business.

@ Running Komet

I might be incorrect, but I thought he worked here locally for a Bigtime Company with a really excellent owner, I am sure that he will retain his employment here, just because he retires from hockey doesn't mean his job there is gone does it??? Maybe someone on here will know?
Guy loves Fort Wayne from what I have read and heard him say. Best of luck to Guy. Super Classy Guy. Hope he makes Fort Wayne his home for a long long long time.

There is something admirable about the way Guy wasn't afraid tp discuss his faith so openly. It always seemed like telling him not to would be like telling him not to breathe. He's a true man of God. All the best to him and his family. And mind you, I'm saying this as an agnostic.

Go Tampa Bay! ... even if the East is only playing for second place this year. Nothing is stopping the Vancouver Express.

Here's a bit of trivia. In Boston's last five Game 7s, they have a record of 1-4. Prior to winning Game 7 against Montreal in the first round of this year's playoffs, they hadn't won a Game 7 since 1994 (also against Montreal). And it didn't matter which team forced Game 7. Of those four losses, Boston won Game 6 in two, lost it in two. Even when they won Game 7 this year and in 1994, they were 50/50 in Game 6.

And yes, I'm still a Bruins fan as ironic as that may seem.

OldtimeHockey: Thanks for the response. I hope he sticks around also. Several friends of mine have done business with Guy through their various occupations around town over the years and all have said he is great to work with. While I do not know this from personal experience, just from what I've heard from them, I think Guy may not think as highly of his employer as you do at this point do to some policy changes at work. That is just what they've passed along to me since they know I'm a Komets fan, but I have not heard Guy say that himself. So, before everyone blows a gasket on here, I'm not saying that is a solid fact, just shooting some conversation with OldtimeHockey.

In any event, Guy is an upstanding guy and an asset to Fort Wayne. Hopefully he stays here for many years to come.

Et tu, mightbite? Why is it everyone looks at me funny and says "But I thought you were a Boston fan" when they hear me rooting for Tampa Bay? I just want my prediction to be right. Boston -- bless their hearts -- is second only to Washington in the east when it comes to epic collapses in recent years. As a fan, I know this about them but like them anyway. One could argue that to a true fan, it doesn't matter if the team loses. Just look at the Cubs. I do want to see the Bruins take the next step, but I want them to do it the right way -- as the favorites for the Stanley Cup. As it was this season, the entire eastern conference seemed to be competing to find out which team was the least mediocre.

I believe Guy has left the occupation he has had and is referred to above.

Tonight is the final CHL game. Hooray!! With both teams rumored to be leaving the league, I find it hard to have any interest in the result.

I put my down payment on this years tickets this morning. Soon we will start to see where this league is going with the defections, salary cap, luxury tax, expansion(?), and how the Komets react to the changes. For some reason I am quite excited for the new season to begin. I am curious to find out how the K's build their new roster. I look for them to build a quicker, bigger, higher scoring roster, with a blend of youth, veterans, and even a player or two who are former Komets or rivals from a few years ago. I believe that the motivation is quite high on management's part. Not only to improve, but also to cure any "embarrassment" they may have felt for last season's stumble out of the gate.

I love to watch hockey and do not really have a favorite in the NHL playoffs. I find myself rooting for the teams behind in their series as I would like to see them all go seven games. If they did go seven, then there would be more games on TV. (I am just the opposite regarding the NBA. I want all the series to go the minimum just to get it over with).

Well if that is the case with Guy.....shame on his boss. Guy deserves better than this. Seems to me that Guy was being used while he was a Komet Player, now he retires, and no longer works there? Very sad. Guy is a great guy, he will land on his feet. Wonder if this Boss knows how bad this looks? God bless you Guy. You are a wonderful man and I am sure everyone here including Blake will be praying for you. Someone reading here surely has connections and can help fins Guy a great job so he can remain in Fort Wayne where he belongs.

My question is, will the CHL tie a string to the Championship trophy so they can yank it back from either the Mudbugs or Eagles as they are leaving the league???
