Tailing the Komets

This week's video is up

WIth some amazing footage from Chad Ryan. You can see it here.

Also, Jason Beckett has left the Komets to play in Germany. He told the team last night and was placed on waiver. The Komets will activate Jake Pence tomorrow and likely sign Sean O'Connor. That gives the Komets five vets, nine rookies, seven deffensemen, 12 forwards and two goaltenders. That means they have all kinds of flexibility if they choose to sign another veteran or two because should also have significant cap space.

"We know Brandon and Jake are good defensemen, so I don't think we'll miss a beat," Komets general manager David Franke said. "We'll be fine."

This just makes the Komets look smart for keeping eight defensemen out of training camp.

I have to be honest, Beckett did not impress me at all. I really did not see him stand out, and I don't think that he had AHL talent. Maybe he did back in the day, but I just didn't see it in him. I wish him the best of luck in Germany.

It will be interesting to see if the Komets talk to any vets, or how they decide to play it out. I kind of like the position that we are in.

maybe we should call Sean Gagnon dont think hes playing anywhere, now that would be agreat defensemen vet. to have back. he would move guys out from in front of our goalies, or knock them out of there.

Great video Blake. The footage was awesome. I also liked your point on Chaulk and trusting his linemates. That is something that I have never noticed before.

Just read on Savage's Blog that Bobby Reynolds is going to be named co-coach of the Flint Generals tomorrow. I say just go with Reynolds and show South the door.

It blows ones mind that after the mess Flint had with 3 coaches last season they would try co-coaches again. The old addage "Two many Chief's and not enough Indians" really applies up there. No offense to the Indians intended. Bobby Reynolds is a first rate coach all by himself. The Flint owners must have problems internally that just can not be understood. That sure is not a vote of confidence in Peter South. Thank you Franke's for stable and responsible owners who totally care about their fans!
