First Lonnie Loach signs to play again, and then Kevin Kaminski gets fired. No truth that Robin Bawa will be the next coach. (Only some of the oldtimers will get that lame joke). It's too bad because Kevin is as good a man as he is a player, and his family is top-notch. He'll land on his feet somewhere.

Sorry to see Kevin go, you know when you look at that lineup he has you have scratch your head and wonder what happen there. They have a strong team but things just did not work out for him. I would love to see him in the Fort.

I think all the Komet fans would be shocked to see someone show feelings and passion behind the bench. With a guy named "Killer," I think there would be some more passion.
Don't get me wrong, Coach GQ is a great guy who wins lots of games, but a little passion durning the games would be nice to see. It might fire our guys up...
Hey Hoss, just in case you missed some of the Komet/River Otter games you didn't see any passion coming from behind the River Otter bench at anytime this year. Just because Killer showed it in the playing days it sure is'nt there coaching, at least not against the Komets. If anything, just a look of boredom and a look of "I can't wait for this game to be over" The bottom line is if the K's had a coach who showed passion but kept losing, you would be one of the first screaming for his dismisal. I'll take the Scotty Bowman type of coach anyday. His way worked and worked well. G.P. way works and works well!! Record don't lie!!!! Obviously the Missiouri organization wasn't at all happy with Killers way of coaching, what ever his way was.
Kaminski coached a very boring ECHL team in Los Angeles (I saw them play) before coming to Missouri. Same type of playing style. He just may not be a very good coach.

Yes I wouldn't him either he took a team in the otter's a year ago made the play-off's and took FW to a game 7 I believe. I am not calling for Coach P's job, but I would love some day to see "killer" behind the k's bench.
Uh no. Missouri had 4 NHLers and was unstoppable mid season last year. Then they tailed off and got demolished by the K's in Game 4 in Missouri. They won Game 5 and the K's won in six.
Just because a guy was one of the best to watch PLAY FIFTEEN years ago doesn't make him a good coach.
Jesus - I just can't understand this thinking that a coach that yells and screams (which Kaminski did not do) is better than one that does his job his way and does it well.
The most fiery coach is Robbie Nichols. So, what has he done? Won one cup I believe and not much else.
If the games are boring then don't go. It's real simple.
I'm not going to call for the Chief's head. I would like to see him every now and again say a word or two while we are taking a screwing from the ref. The last home game when Jorde got tossed for being the 3rd man in, our cardboard cutout said nothing, I think a saw him go back to the locker room before the players did at the end of the period, and the Rockford coach stayed out to question the ref. Also, the Rockford coach called a timeout in the 3rd period to refocus his team and even was "talking" to his players. During the same TO our coach was looking at the ground as our players were sitting and standing watching Rockford get coached. I just never can understand why he coaches like he is a mute.
He does have a great record and has been very successful, he too could improve though.

I think the facination with Kaminski is he was a tough SOB and thats what kind of team we would have if he were here.
As for Pulhalski, I don't go to the games to see the coach jump up and down and throw equipment on the ice when we got screwed. Its the fans unbiased job to let the ref know he blew a call and we do a excellent unbiased job of letting him know he blew a call....LOL.
And I don't have a problem with Puhalski doing his rants in private. You don't lose it in front of the fans and embarass the players or let the other team know they got to you. Its like parenting. Some parent smack their kids in public places embarassing everyone around. Others choose to wait until they are alone, when the punishment usually is 10 times worse.
Does Missouri have a tough SOB team? They may have penalty minutes but they don't exactly throw their weight around enough to win. And they have some pretty good players, enough to make the playoffs anyways
It's really up to the players. They're pros - they get paid. Do they want to do the extra things? Look at KZoo Saturday. Was that because Puhalski went into a big rant on the busride up there. I doubt it.
Chaulk said they should play physical. Well, I guess its up to them. Puhalski has said many times that he wishes there was more hitting and more physical play. Every player on the ice is capable of hitting and finishing a check. Players just don't do it all the time.
If they did they would be in the AHL and more likely the NHL if they have the size and speed.
If the Komets as a team hit everything in sight then they would proabbly have a record like Rockford or Kalamazoo. If they finish the season hitting then they will compete with those teams. But, it's up to them. I don't think Puhalski can make them do it.
we are not asking him to jump up and down (but that would be kind of fun) and throw water bottles or scream at the players etc.etc. but just show something that makes us think that he is in the game also.
there is no need for him to make the players look like fools.
Didn't anybody go to the Kalamazoo game a few weeks ago?! If you were there, you definitely should've been able to hear Coach then. The refs made a REALLY horrendous call and as soon as Coach got word, he starts screaming at the ref, going, "BAD F***ING CALL! THAT IS A BAD F***ING CALL, REF!!" and repeatedly screamed it for quite awhile. And even on Saturday at K-zoo, he was yelling a few choice things, so I don't know why people are saying he's not vocal. LOL Maybe not all the time (like he should be) but, just like Chaulk, he picks his battles.
They need to pick thier battles a few more times at home.....in front of KOMET fans...
I agree....if you act like that all the time it gets old, really quick (the screaming and swearing) However, if it comes out when no one is expecting an emotional outburst, it certainly gets your attention! If you look at the recent photo of Chief on his trading card, he looks like a Marine Corps drill instructor reading you the riot act! Don't judge a book by it's cover!
The same crap is said about Tony Dungy. Pretty sure I can rest peacefully knowing he was in the games too.
Tony Dungy talks to his players during the course of the game. He questions bad officiating several of times a game to get an explanation of what the call is. He also has about 20 or so specialized coaches that coach the team during the game and point out things to make them better during the game also due to the amount of players. Have you ever noticed during a timeout that our coach usually just stands there speechless. Unless it is the very end of the game, we have our net empty, he does try to draw something up. Otherwise, he says nothing. I don't care to see him throwing things around like you suggested. I am not asking him to embarass our players by screaming at them. I don't like all of that either. I would like to see him act interested in what is going on out there on the ice. Are you comfortable with a coach who cannot react one way or another during the course of the game to either his players or to the ref who blows call after call. I know I'm not, and there are thousands of other Komet fans who aren't either. I just want to look down every now and again and when things are going bad, good, or whatever to see him encouraging, coaching, and acting interested in what is going on. I'm not calling for his job. I said it before, he could improve on his job as well. That's all.
