We're No. 2, and that's OK

Fort Wayne is no longer the defending champion, but finishing No. 2 is still very good in this poll.

In an article published Monday, Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal ranked Fort Wayne as the No. 2 minor-league sports city in America behind Hershey-Harrisburg, Penn. Fort Wayne was the top-ranked city in 2007 after coming in No. 7 in the magazine's initial survey in 2005.

Just out of curiosity, did they say why we lost points from last time?

#1 in our hearts the "Summt City is! Anybody ever been to Hersey-Harrisburg? Didn't think so! All they have is chocolate. I am not sure Hersey Bars are still made there.

Do you have to go on the Hershey Highway to get there? LOL.....Please don't edit this...You know you are laughing.

It all has to do with the Freedom? Come on, give me a break. We have the TinCaps that are like the best baseball team in the Minors this year and Parkview Field, and Latos that got called up to the bigs....and Castro's No-No!!! Hershey can't beat that, oh right, we won the IHL Championship again too. And we own most of the IHL.

I say we are still #1.

@Dschebig: I've actually been to Hershey. I'm originally from eastern PA, so I attended a Bears game at Pepsi Coliseum (or whatever the heck its called) back when Peter Budaj was in goal and this guy name Tommy Lawson was his backup. It's a nice arena, and good area. It seems odd to me that they only really seem to talk about the baseball team (which is *really* based out of Harrisburg) and the Bears. Two minor league teams makes you #1? How about the FORT WAYNE Freedom, the FORT WAYNE Komets, the FORT WAYNE Tin Caps, the FORT WAYNE Mad Ants; not to mention the Fever! Not for nothin', but including Harrisburg in the study would be like including Huntington (if they had minor league teams).

I'm also wondering how they came up with the scoring sytem, Hershey gets 100 but Richmond, VA gets -136.18. What the heck? PS the full ranking/scores are here: http://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/article/63374

Just to add gas to the war: a little town called Kalamazoo placed 173rd with a score of -1.91.

Burgee--Blake is the "National President" of "HOW" Hair that Once Was. Basic cause of absence is sleeping to close to the headboard. Also a over use of tanning oil.
