Tailing the Komets

What Al had to say

"I think our team was well prepared and we changed some things up on our power play to specifically go after Bloomington''s penalty kill. The guys were chompng at the bit to get into the playoffs. Some guys that sturggled during the year had big games for us. We all had a fresh start here, and we wanted to be known as guys who showed up in the spirng.

"Anytime you go 3-8 on the power play you should win. I'm surprised one of the least penaltized teams in the league took as many penalts as they did. We were very disciplined and played smart. The two goals in the third were something that happenes, but it helped us to battle and win a tough game. We bent but we didn't break."

On Curadeau: ``He's been playing great. He should have had four or five goals tonight. His line could have had a lot more than they did. For Matty, this was great for his confidence."

Looking at Game 2: "I think Bloomington is going to play desperate, and they have to come hard. Our guys just have to play the same way we played tonight. Play disciplined in our system and continue to beat them in the special teams. We were better than them all year, and we knew that both teams scored 2.8 goal sper game and if our power play could come through we could win the series."

Great job Komets!!!

Who is this new guy Curadeau? Is that Justin Hodgman in a #94 jersey?

LOL

Great effort tonight by the K's. They looked a step quicker, they looked confident, and they played their game.....Bloomy was simply running around all night.

Klotz is a MORAN. Just ignore that goon and let him take his Dumb Arse penalties and burn them with PP Goals. He will get his bell rung by Cescon, Schrock, or Krug at the right moment. Maybe all 3 will ding dong that dork.

Go get 'em tomorrow boys. Would love to see us close them out on our ice.....

2150 in attendance......simply awful. The CHL is in trouble.

Wow!!! What an awesome game. Komets came out like a team possessed. They played like they wanted it bad. The US Cellular Coliseum is a very nice arena. I was very impressed. The fans here are awesome also. We met quite a few who we talked to out on the smoke deck. They had nothing but great things to say about the Komets. They were all happy 500 or 600 of us made the trip. We even had one stop us and shook our hands and thanked us for coming over. All in all a great road trip. I will definitely be back in the future.

Nice win and nice to see Curadeau earn his game check for a change. Let's hope it continues!

I used to get on CHLForums quite a bit but got tired of all the old CHL bloggers putting down the IHL and how the CHL was so much better. This league is a little different but its still AA hockey. And from what I have seen of the attendance figures for the year and playoffs, they don't have much room to talk.

News flash, the traditional CHL teams WERE alot better during the regular season (for the most part...)...

I completely forgot about that site...lol
