Tailing the Komets

What Al had to say

``They were three unbeliebable and hard-fought games. It was a man's game out there in those three games and our teamm really showed what they are made of and served notice on the league that the Komets are back. These are two of the elite teams in the other division, and to beat them in their own buildings like this is really something.

``I think we've been in gear (11-3-4 over the last 18 games), and we just need to keep going the way we are going.''

On beating Fort Worth: ``It's awesome. It was a team that fired me. Any time you can come back and return the favor, it's a great thing.''

What's turned things around: ``Our team is getting more disciplined, and we're just learning how to win. Colin has meant a lot to the team. I don't know how many games we've lost since he's gotten here. He's brought his winning ways with him, and he has everybody else believing in themselves and the team.''

Hoss, Colin would appreciate that. I tried to get you in touch before he left last Spring. Not a lot to be said here. The team is playing great. Management took a lot of heat for the way the team started and made some big changes.
If they can keep this up, I believe Fort Wayne hockey fans are in for a treat. I am not saying they are going to win every game. But If they can keep a good focus not get too up or down, there is going to be great hockey games to watch. As my buddy says before we go out to play. "The horses are in the hands of the starter"

For the minority, and very small group of you, you know who you are.....that didn't think Chaulk should come back, or did not think he would make a difference.....

EAT CROW!!!

He has been a proven winner and leader since day one in FW.

He has this team back into form and the others guys have all improved their play and they look like a team on a mission now.

You can't down-play this. You just can't.

Colin Chaulk is a legend.

But more importantly, this team is playing good hockey now and they are doing the little things to win hockey games.

The team we had before the holidays would have gotten smoked this weekend.

The only thing we lack right now is a monster who can protect the skilled guys...

That is the only thing that worries me. Some might say it doesn't matter....but I really don't want to see Lardner fighting anymore. We need a meathead.

I must admit I was one who really, really wanted Colin back. I did not however think that one guy had it in him to turn an entire franchise around. Gotta admit......he's doing a heck of a job, that colin...

youknowwho!!!!!!!!!

I'll keep taking the heat but please don't misquote or mistate what I said.
Never said he couldn't play anymore, never said he wasn't one of the all time greats. Never said he wasn't a leader. Never questioned his toughness, character or his quality as a human being. Never said his return would not improve the current roster. No MORAN in the world would say trading Chaulk for Legault was a bad move.
They were on their way to get better before he returned. His return will make them better.
Still didn't want him back and not even a 20 game winning streak would change that.

Oh right. I forgot which teams Al coached before. So... "money on the board" night, then? ;)
