``He was looking the other way, and I just stepped up and tried hit him shoulder-to-shoulder, and the last second he made the move. I'm not trying to knee him, I'm trying to hit him with my shoulder. My stick is on the ice, my two feet are on the ice. We hit leg on leg, and I thought he hit him on the thigh. It was accidental, but unfortunately it put the team down.

Two points. 1, that he's apparently one of the best players on their team. It would be like if DeAngelis went down. And 2, as one of the best players on their team, maybe that had something to do with him coming back as he did.
This was in a story from the Examiner:
So your suggesting he came back because he's one of the more talented players on the team? Really?
Sims mistake on the 5min. call=pee-wee hockey mistake :(
Behind the mask. That was a stupid cruel remark you made about Sims and Frank's. Please keep your bull@#@# to yourself you freaking MORAN!
Pretty sure the Game Misconduct is automatic with any non-fighting major penalty.
It's not a bad move on the 5-min. You roll the dice that there'll be a stoppage with about 30 seconds to go. That way the bench isn't TWO men short for the whole 5.
To me, it's a stupid rule, but an acceptable risk for the team.
C-an't seem to
H-ire quality
L-inesmen or referees.
PERFECT fit ;)
I'm equally confused, GM. So players with less talent don't come back as quickly when injured?
Must have something to do with their DNA
Jungle, I agree that Reiter could be used more often. I believe Boucher had a very strong game up in Bloomington on Saturday from what I heard, but Reiter had a great one at home the day after........tough call but Reiter could have easily played, for sure.
JM: mine came back pretty quickly when he was injured this past summer. Took him 2 shifts to recover enough to finish the game....he's only a squirt, not even close to CHL talent....I think you're right....it depends on their pain tolerance and love of the game, not their all-star status. Mine is not an all-star (yet), he's only 10.
Bloomington = not "up" from Fort Wayne
Wow, net presence was again almost non-existent....it is like watching a re-run game after game. While we enjoy seeing them play the style needs to be changed.
Thank God for the goalie tandem or all losses would be much worse.
Seems strange to me that our winning streak has been done with Curadeau, OC and Warner on the bench....says something to me....should speak loudly to the bench as well.
WHO.....what are you talking about?
OC missed last weekend's games only. The guys that have been out have been LEO and Warner.
Curadeau has been on the 10 day IR. He missed 4 games so far...in those 4 games our record was 2-1-1.
If you call a winning streak 2-1-1.....great for you.
The team overall is playing better. The additions of Apod, Lardner, and LaPointe are paying off so far. Chaulk has 7 points in 6 games, really 7 if you want to count the 20 seconds he played last night.
No one can say the Komets are better off without Leo because he has played solid this year.
So I guess I don't understand your point.
Okay JM and GM. You're right. All players play equally hard. The best players aren't pushing themselves any harder than anyone else on the team. And coaches are equally inclined to allow injured mediocre players and injured star players back on the ice. Thanks for setting me straight on that.
You're welcome.
Anytime sir, glad we could help
GM, have you seen Wendy? Definitely not a sir. LOL.
LOL, Mike....you got that right! Funny stuff.....
