According to David Franke, the team is continuing to negotiate with defensemen Guy Dupuis, Brandon Warner and Frankie DeAngelis. They expect to be able to sign Dupuis and Warner, and they hope to know one way the other on DeAngelis by next week. (He's currently on vacation).
Looking for two more goaltenders to bring into camp, but are uncertain if Tim Haun will be back.
Looking for some more toughness, maybe at a forward position. Brad MacMillan is a free agent, as is Mitch Woods, and the Komets are not planning on bringing either back.
``I'm looking for some more toughness,'' Franke said. "We answered some of those questions with Schrock coming back, but I still want to find a top guy for that."
OK, me again, I'm guessing the Komets have to be running out of cap space, and the rest of the signings other than the defensemen might end up being kids. Of course, we don't know what the cap is going to be yet, either. I think they were really smart about this in that they signed all the more economical players first because they knew those would be the ones everyone else wanted. Then they protected the higher-priced guys who were not signed and picked them off.
I'm sure Hit has already figured out who's going to play with who, but do you realize they could have a third line where everybody could score at least 20 goals?
Now this is another reason I wish it was a 76-game schedule because this team should be a lot of fun to watch. Another reason I wish it was still 76 games is because it's going to be impossible to get to nearly as many road games.

Blake, I sure am glad your back from vacation. You are just the endless supply of information. No body does it better. It is hard to get any work done checking back all the time. We do need another very good goaltender and a big strong defensman. Al will find some speedy unheard of kids to fill the spots. We can count on that I think. Lets get the season underway.
6' 4" 230 lbs of "MEANESS" is coming to the Komets :)
i didnt think you were that tall mightbite
i want Schebigs job, i'll tell Hawthorne how it is and give him the what for!
Burgee--Stay on vacation...We are building a great team without you around. No little pills, Foo Foo's or suntan lotion.
Your buddy Jimmy is a pansy.
Blake I bet management wishes it was a longer regular season and shorter playoffs too. But when you join a growing league and don't want to be playing into August...(is the AHL still playing? lol) something has to give.

or did you mean 6'5 238lbs of "MEANESS" ;)
6'4" 260 gets my vote... and he plays good defense.

Looks like he can put some points on the board as well. Pretty good numbers for not only a defenseman but a tough guy as well.

Maybe this guy? No way he is 6-3 165 though....gheesh.
I like the signings alot.
Very good team in the works. Someone else said this might be the best roster since 07-08.....I totally agree.
Loaded.
Hit Somebody's Current Summer Line-Pairings:
Patrosso, Curadeau, Schrock (Maybe an unknown signing?)
PC, OC, LEO
Ward, Naurato,??? (maybe Schrock)
Cescon, Rodger
Phillips, Warner
Mironovic, Guy
Boucher, Russo
I hope DeAngelis gets re-signed....we'll see.
I would like to see DeAngelis back and pair him with Warner again. I also know of a certain 7 year old girl (a friend's kid)who would be thrilled to see Frankie re-signed.
Maybe the Cowboy???

wow did laroque go on slim fast...165 just seems off?
Joly isn't a veteran yet so i could see that even Kovalcik both would be great if possible but i find both unlikely.
Now this is stuck in my head:

"A LOT TOUGHER" Komet fans will be happy if this go though :)

THIS IS WHAT WILL GO ON.
(SP) through
Aside from toughness... I'd love to see John Booras.
U2=blogfoul.
Has Jason Goulet signed with anyone yet? Quad City might still own his rights, not sure. I would take him here. I thought he played a good game, and seemed to be able to skate a normal shift, plus drop the gloves when needed.
http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=55447
Quad City has put him on the protected list and have sent him an offer according to a recent article out of QC
Goulet is a tough cat. Of course he's also the size of a SUV... but I'd take him in Orange and Black...
Is Henley signed anywhere?
Listen to the lyrics & 6'4" 230 lbs & "meaness"
OMG! They're going to sign bad, bad Leroy Brown!
Yes Goulet would be my pick also. Can play well and is very very tough. However no way Mallards give him up. Havent heard anything about Brent either.
Aw, c'mon. Everybody likes U2. They're like parfaits. Nobody says, "Heck no! I don't like no parfait!" ;)
He may be the "baddest man in the whole d--- town " not real sure about his ground game:)
Thanks for the info on Goulet. If he stays with QC, then I hope we get someone who can match up with him better.
I will pass on U2 any day of the week, but I will always take a parfait!
Not even "Beautiful Day"? ;)
It will be a "beautiful day" if this player does end up in a K's jersey. I missed the chance to see U2 twice :( but i did see Black Sabbath with Ozzie :)
