Blake, those are employees of the Duhart Vacuum Sales Company! Just kidding! But when I saw them stand up...that was the first time I ever laughed when the National Anthem was being sung!!

Hey, at least somebody had fun at Sunday's game.

I do think Duhart wearing a Komets uniform would be spectacular, though. Just like Scott Gruhl, Kevin MacDonald, Mitch Messier or Paul Jerrard. We'd have some fun.

I hope to never see Duhart in a K's jersey. Maybe a couple of years ago, but he has lost a couple steps. He's old and slow.

Blake

But he'd be fun and bring personality to the team. He's also stand in front and crash the net. Every team needs one jerk. No more, just one, to stir things up sometimes.

I have a feeling coach and he would be killing each other inside two weeks, though.

Duhart's really stepped up for Missouri. I hear that he has been double shifting for a while now as Missouri is constantly short on players. I was just reading the other day on how he has really helped out the Otters this season. While I still love to cheer against him, I have just maybe a little tiny bit of respect for him now.

I know a couple of people in that picture. :)

The best part of that picture is when Duhart looked at us as if to say "hey, what did I do to you guys?" He is such an ass, there is nothing I would like to see more than for Jorde to mop up the ice with him.

I still think you have to respect somebody who can get that kind of reaction out of opposing fans, but still has the sense to have fun with it. What was it last game he was here, weren't there some fans getting on him about his weight, and Duhart lifted his sweater to show his belly or something like that? Classic.

What I love about him is that he has FUN playing the game. What a concept! And in part because of that the fans have fun watching him. It's a game so it ought to be fun! He gets it.

I will give him that....he does thrive on the attention we give him. He seems to play better when he knows we are all watching him. I can't really think of anybody else in this league that we love to hate more than Jim Duhart.

See, that's my point. Gruhl was the exact same way. Remember how some season ticket holders said they'd turn in their tickets if the Komets signed Scott? They were his biggest boosters later.

Duhart would probably score 65 goals playing here.

If Jimmy wanted to play in the Fort I would say "hell yes". We could use a guy of his talent and everything he brings to the table. Who would you take Duhart or PC?

I missed the game Sunday, what was Dufarts reaction when he looked up and saw his fan club?

JCV

He just shook his head. His coach leaned in for a laugh at his expense, even the ref had a laugh or two. It was a fun time had at the expense of Duhart.

As I said in an earlier thread, I think age and experience have made more of a man out of Mr. Duhart. If you put him and Lance on the same line....that might be fun!

A few years ago, I would have loved to have him on the team. During the All-Star game in the Fort, I was still working at the MC and got the "joy" of taking his team some beer from the Frankes after the game. I got to talk to him a little when he was enjoying them with the boys. He talked to me about loving the reaction of the crowd in FW and how he does most of the stuff he does just to get the reaction from the fans. He's said it was his part to add to the game, getting the fans excited about him. (Even if it was to kill him!)

Great guy! He knows what it's all about...THE FANS!!! I wish a few of the "higher-ups" in the Komets had the same views.

Yes, why would anyone question the fun and entertainment it brings to the game. That is what we have all been missing this year, isn't it? I hate him, but I would be the first to cheer him in a Komets Uni. He is a clown out there, a dangerous one to boot. He can fill up the net if you forget about him. Give me a line with him, Blackned and Galbraith. That would fill the arena every night. We wouldn't bitch about entertainment value, that's for sure.

He would be one guy that if I were GM for a day I would target at the end of season. I am sure he does not have a multi-year deal with Missouri and I bet he would love to get with a team that has a chance to win and go far in playoff's.

That ladies and gents was the fan play of the year. i loved it, laughed my butt off!

Yes, i can see Jimmy as a dangerous tool, a seasoned vet with wisdom.....But, will the old dog learn new tricks?

jimbo old and slow? to the tune of 23 goals and 49 points in 46 games. take him in a heartbeat!!

Mon, 03/27/2006 - 7:10pm

I'll pass on a guy that very rarely plays any defense at all. The guy almost always hangs out by the red line. I would take PC in a heartbeat over Duhart. Jimmy had his chance to play here and he turned it down. After saying all that, I do love to cheer against him and he is great for the league.

Blake, Did any of the players say anything about it?

Shawn
Mon, 03/27/2006 - 7:28pm

I love to hate Jimmy Duhart. I boo because Jim is a cherry picking, dirty, cry baby who can light the lamp if you are not watching him at all times. He has skated many shifts in this league and he should be respected for that, I just choose to show my respect in the form of a BOO!

The best part about that group is the little boy at the end as the exclamation mark. LOL

I saw a bunch of the Otters players pointing up and laughing at the "Marquee o' Duhart Hate." I was tempted to walk up to each and every one of those individuals with the t-shirts and shake their hands. ;)

I knew something was going on with them when one of them had a single tee shirt that said "Duhart Sucks". That bunch makes hockey a whole lot of fun for our end of the barn!

Ks didn't say anything. Next time you guys are going to do something like that, e-mail me and I can ask around some more. Because I was busy during the anthem, I never saw it until somebody sent me the picture. I'm definitely keeping it for next year.
