I'm not as down on Reiter as everyone else seems to be, but at the same time Boucher is pretty solid between the pipes. Reiter also has a win against RC that Bouch doesn't. Start Reiter, if things go south, put Boucher in.
I'm not sure how true this is, but did Nick's dad fly down from Canada to watch the game last night and Bouch didn't even get in? Wonder if he'll stick around to see another Reiter game on Friday??

Great third period for the K's... Rapid City took thier foot off the pettle, started plugging the neutral zone and thats when the K's got thier wind back. I love how the Rush always have a body in front of the goalie, nand the K's started to have success once they started to as well...
I would stay with Rieter...
Can the K's beat the Rush if they dont get 4 PP goals a game?
How will these teams react if they get a ref who actually calls a playoff style game?
I thought Cescon did a great job of staying in Reaney's grill; but keeping his composure while doing so.... He didnt have the best game defensively; but did his job in that aspect.
I love how Colt King signaled to the crowd that Curadeau turtled when he went after him.... Of course what whould be the sign for 'I jumped him from behind'??? lol Cescon jumped on him; but he wanted nothing to do with a guy who can fight........
Great first win....lets see if they can put 2 more together...

Anyone from RC that makes a turtling gesture in a hypocrite.
PC and Chaulk both took bad penalties that they should have walked away from after the whistle. When its do or die you can't allow yourself to be suckered into that crap.
I'll show some respect for the RC goaltender. He spent more time on his feet than any of his teammates.

JR1: Great points on Cescon. He looked like he was in that zone that you usually see him get in just before he beats the crap out of someone, but then he was smart enough to hold back and not get the penalty. Great job, Cescon!
Krug also gets a nod from me playing hurt. Anytime someone gave him some contact on his hurt arm, you could really tell it was bothering him, but he kept coming back out there. I got nervous when I thought he was going to drop the gloves at center ice in the 2nd.
RC has been a fun team to watch. I hate those guys! It's fun having a team like that for a change that I still can't stand even the day after the game. It's not like when we'd beat on Dayton, PH, or Musky and then the game is forgettable by the next morning. I'm still not overly convinced that I should hold my breath for some massive comeback, but last night was still a fun game to watch. My fingers are still crossed though. Leave it all out there K's!

Unbelievable game last night and great job K's. Every year you never cease to impress in the playoffs. As for Friday I don't think it matters much about the goalie as much as the intensity of the players. If only they could feel that sense of urgency at the start of the game as opposed to midway through the third. Bouch seems more calm and stable, but Rides did get the W. So he's the man Friday.
Hats off to PC. He battled the Rush, his own fans, and sometimes his own legs to prove he's still a playoff god. Mele was a nice change of pace and hopefully Tab can get his swagger back by Friday. I love playoff hockey! Go Komets!

I, for one, love Rides! He had no chance on most of the goals last night, but I'm sure if we would have lost, he would have been the scapegoat. Now he's the hero and I love it. He's got a big win behind him and has the momentum, so keep him in there.
I'd just love to see the K's come out hitting everything in sight Friday night, set the tone of the game from the start and play a full 60 minutes of hockey. And please - stop hitting the goalie square in the chest, and keep the Rush out of the crease. Clear them out; especially Colt Queen! Now if only Tab Lardner and Leo Thomas would make an appearance, I'd be especially happy.

Great game K's. Watching the hitting in the first period brought back fond memories of years gone by.
I for one was ready to leave when they went down 4-1 but my wife suggested we stay at least thru 5 minute mark....glad we stayed to see it all thru.
I am a big Boucher fan but cannot argue with the outcome...I say leave Reiter in.
Mele was great to watch, fast, not afraid to hit, handled the puck well and added value to the team.
Whats wrong with Patrosso? Saw him coming in to the building at 6:45 in streets.

Nothing is wrong with him except being invisible on the scoresheet...that's why they made the move to Mele. I was a little worried about a unproven player making their first pro start in a game we must win, but man was I wrong! Mele came out hitting everything and everyone. Just goes to show Sims might have a little more of an idea of what to do than some of us...but we would never agree!
Sims went out on a limb last night and if it didn't work out, fans wouldn't be happy till his blood was running in the streets...lets give him his due for pushing the right buttons to make it to Friday!
If this teams plays like we know they can, they can hang with anyone!!! STILL Gotta Believe!!!

Official game sheet shows 10 PPs for RC and 8 for FTW. RC also got 3 OT PPs. If anything, the ref gave RC every chance to win that game. Did he miss some calls? Absolutely. But for once in this series the game was somewhat under control. It was a great hockey game as I'm sure Friday will be as well. May the best team win.

This makes me glad I'm not a coach.
Someone pointed out the "record" as 1-0 and 0-4. Uh, Bouche is 3-2 in the playoffs. 3-0 at home; and let's not forget the 15-in-a-row (!) at home and 6-0 in elimination games.
That being said, when Reiter started on Wednesday, I figured we were done for. He allowed 3 goals on 13 shots and was giving up some FAT rebounds. He looked a LOT better in the third, so maybe it took him a while to warm up. Not sure.
Reiter did NOT win us that game; even if we did win. Bouche has carried the team before.
I would start Bouche, but I'll root for Reiter as loud and as proud as anyone else.

Reiter did not win the game single-handedly, but he almost single-handedly kept them in the game during the overtimes on those penalty kills. He was amazing during those.
