The wild ride

The blogosphere is changing rapidly. Recently I mentioned that we needed and probably would soon have the equivalent of a blog wire service in Indiana. Now we have one. The Indiana Blog Review, referenced in the immediately prior post, promises an attempt to round up the best from the state's major blogs. And this story describes another phase in the development of the national blogosphere.

I've said before, and I'll repeat, that anyone who pretends to have even a clue about how all this will shake out is just blowing smoke. One of the things that makes it all exciting but unpredictable is the fact that the phenomenon is being driven largely by people who are doing it for reasons other than being able to make a living at it. Once we see what the money is and where it will go, and who will be left standing when that is all sorted out, we might have a better idea.

Don't know where we're going, but it's going to be a wild ride.
