Opening Arguments

Work, work, work

Oh, get over it. Life is tough:

As more retailers try to turn Thanksgiving Thursday into Black Friday — some employees are fighting back.

More than 80,000 people signed an online petition on change.org  asking retail giant Target to reverse its decision to open its doors on Thanksgiving Day — and allow workers to spend the holiday with family and friends.

You have a job. You're providing for your family. You're giving people like me something to do when the football games get boring. Quit yer whinin'.

Speaking of days away from work, it has always irked me no end that I never got Veterans Day off, you know, as a small token thanks for bravely defending your freedom and way of life and all. So this year, I just took it on my own. Cost me a vacation day, but at least got to thank myself for my service and spend the day in a meaningful way.

Went shopping.

Leo:
I was always one who took his BIRTHDAY off...most every time, WITHOUT PAY. I didn't care...that was "my" day.

I think we owe it TO OURSELVES.
Good for you taking off Veteran's Day!

Carry on.
