Yeah...We probably should shut up so we don't have the booklet taken away next.

JR says. "Plus if you have a friend/s come to the game using those tickets it will take them 2 days and a Sherpa guide to meet up in between periods

Felony conviction? Your killing me. If it was really a problem, they would have had the ushers check every single ticket that came through the door. And i'm sure those fancy little scanners they use could be programmed to tell them Adult/child ticket. Lets be realistic people. The economy is struggling, if we can save a buck, it's gonna happen. Like I said for a lot of people, they flat out wouldn't be going if they couldn't get a cheaper ticket.

Some people just ask for it.

Oh well.....

Sorry Chad, maybe I didn't make it clear that the felony conviction was made in reference to my employment before I retired. Any theft, no matter how small, was a federal offense and an automatic felony. I wasn't referring to your stealing from the Komets as a felony, that would probably depend on how many times you did it and the total amounts involved. In fact I'm not really sure why I brought that up, I think I was wondering if you also stole from your employer.

Do you steal from your employer? Who else do you steal from and justify it by saying the economy is struggling? The little old lady walking down the street? Or is it only if you feel she can afford to be stolen from?

BTW, wasn't the catalyst for this discussion the fact that they are checking the tickets? And cheaper tickets? Aren't there maybe at least 1000 seats available at $6.00? How much cheaper were you getting your tickets?

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. You may want to check the definition of "stealing" again. Usually means taking something that doesn't belong to you or without paying "anything" for it. Your comparing apples to oranges.

You should run for office, Chad.

So I can walk in anywhere that sells something, take a 10 dollar item off the shelf; but leave behind 2 dollars and thats not "stealing"???

I was going to point out how people move around once they get in there and they see open seats that are better than thiers, or park across the street to avoid paying parking, or bring in thier own snacks/refreshments, etc... to point out other ways people are cheating the system at Komets games to avoid paying for things; but your last statement lost me...

Comparing apples to oranges is one thing; but trying to legitimize what your doing by skewing the definition of stealing is absurd, IMO...

It happens all the time in business. Where I work in retail/wholesale people all the time come in and tell me they were quoted one price when in fact I know better. But it's a game, and like I said before people will do what they can to save a buck. Kudos to those of you who are well enough off that don't need to save a buck. Unfortunately it's not that way for everyone.

And as you were saying JR about people buying cheap seats then moving down to a better open seat. Is that stealing?

The fact of the matter is, the Komets/Coliseum had every opportunity to enforce the tickets on people, they knew they had some leg room.

I don't know Chad, I think you ought to sit in the box for ten minutes (misconduct) and feel shame.................

Wed, 10/06/2010 - 9:46am

Steve i've always wanted to see what it was like to sit in the box. Do I get to sit with the Red Heads?

Wed, 10/06/2010 - 10:59am

Maybe people who are in such dire straights with the tough economy should either save their money or spend it on things more necessary to life than minor league hockey tickets, even if they are at a self-imposed discount rate...

Wed, 10/06/2010 - 11:02am

And please do not run for office. There are enough thieves occupying those positions already. ;)

Wed, 10/06/2010 - 11:53am

Chad, I chose to clip the newspaper's coupon and buy the $6 dollar nosebleed seat, thats how I save a buck. They really arent that bad of seats...you cant hear them cuss or give them a good ribbing; but you can really see plays develop from up in the clouds...

Haggling to reach a mutual agreement for services or products recieved and stealing are two different things...

You would have to ask somebody else if they think that moving to a better location, if open, is stealing or not... I was just saying I was going to point out other areas where people "work" the system that could be considered "stealing" if taking the absolute hard line stance; but then I strongly disagreed with your definition of stealing...
