Komets came back to tie 3-3 on a great play by Matt Woodard to force overtime. Nick Boucher was huge with 38 saves in regulation and Leo Thomas won it in overtime ina breakaway with 3:17 left.

Komets were lucky to get away from Dayton with a win, IMO... I thought the Gems outplayed them for much of the game... K's werent moving thier feet for 2 1/2 periods and were taking some lazy penalties... Then they just seemed to wake up 1/2 thru the third...
Kinda surprised that Maslonka seemed to turn down Stayzer at one point in the game for some fisticuffs...
Woodards goal to tie was nice and Drouins pass to set up Thomas for the winner in OT was pretty...
First off I am glad to see an new team in the IHL. As for the Komets this is my take. Boucher needs to figure out a way to get his head into a game from the start. He lets in so many bad goals(left handed shot on the left wing below the dot come on)at the beginning of games it ridicules. The Ks sucked in the first half of the game. Things started looking up half way in. After the fight it was the Ks we all know and love. Great comeback Boucher played like he should. We need D help Guy, Phillips,Rodger, were the best we had. Danko still can not skate or get the puck out. Woodared can carry the puck well but he sucks at D. I think he is the next Brian McKey for you old school Komet fans."Hey look I got two points tonight, oh damm I was minus -2". Burt was not bad and Stayz was better at D. The Energy line with Schrock leading the way and Mac not to far behind was a blast to watch. There goal is to not get scored on and get goal here and there. They did a great job. Chalk was the best player on the ice many times. PC had a very bad game turn overs and did not support the puck. Leo nice goal and a good game. I could go on but it late. So now I will go to bed and read all the mud you guys will now sling at me. Thanks Ks for not giving up. Can't wait till the Jungle will rock again. OH I forgot PC did make a great pass to Leo for the win.
